Third Bite

Avery and Kai looked at each other worriedly as Chanyeol began to twitch slightly, his body responding to the scent of Avery's blood. Kai moved her behind him slightly,

"Avery I want you to stay behind me, okay? Let me handle Chanyeol. If you see a way out of here, take it. Find the others. You'll be safe with them and tell Baekhyun what's going on. He might be able to help or at least keep you safe."

Kai spoke quickly and quietly as he and Avery backed up. Chanyeol's eyes snapped open as he stood up. His movements started off stiff and uncoordinated, but became more fluid and swift as he stalked over to Kai, grabbing him by his shirt collar throwing him at the glass doors to his balcony, shattering them completely. Avery moved back in fear more as Chanyeol's gaze shifted to her. His eyes turned a deep red as he looked at her, slowly creeping closer as her back hit the wall. He reached for Avery but she was too quick, rolling out of the way as Kai got up and pounced on him. While Kai and Chanyeol fought brutally on the floor, Avery rushed to the balcony. She looked down and quickly judged the fall distance in her head,

No way. If I jump I'm dead. I can't survive that fall. But if the guys are close enough...

Avery thought to herself. She knew she had to act quickly, taking a deep breath Avery opened her mouth and yelled as loud as she could,

"Baekhyun!! Kris! Luhan! Tao! Chen!! Help me!!! Help!!!"

She looked around, searching for any sign of the werewolves and vampire. When she didn't see them she yelled again,

"Help!!! Baekhyun!!!! I need you!!!"

Avery looked around again and saw five blurs zoom up to the ground beneath the balcony. She leaned over and saw Baekhyun, Kris, Luhan, Tao, and Chen looking up at her, a mixture of worry and fear in their eyes,

"Avery! What's going on??"

Baekhyun yelled up to her. She ran a stressed hand through her hair as she responded,

"Kai and I are trapped in the house!! We can't open the door! He said Chanyeol, Suho, and Sehun have entered something called the Darkling Stage! Kai tried to teleport us out but now we're locked in Chanyeol's room! They're fighting right now I don't know how long-"

Avery was cut off when she heard wood crack behind her. She turned, eyes widening in horror when she saw Chanyeol had thrown Kai full force into his wardrobe, cracking the wood and breaking it. She quickly turned back to Baekhyun,

"Help me! I don't know how much more Kai can take!!!"

She yelled in fear as Tao and Chen ran towards the front of the mansion,

"We'll try and force the door open!!"

Tao yelled back to them as Kris looked up at Avery, backing up a few feet before speaking,

"Hold on, Avery! I'll get you out of there!"

Before she could ask how he turned to Luhan,

"Give me a boost."

The werewolf nodded as Kris began running, gaining speed as he approached Luhan who was on his hands and knees on the ground. Kris stepped on his back and leapt into the air, soaring into the sky as his flight kicked in. He flew down to Avery and attempted to pass the balcony,

"Ah!!"

Kris yelled as he was forcefully thrown back by Chanyeol. Avery screamed,

"KRIS!!!!"

She watched in horror as the alpha male fell to the ground, groaning in pain. She turned to see Chanyeol, red eyes burning into her as she looked to Kai's beaten form on the dark wood floor. He looked up at her in pain,

"A..Avery... run..."

He said, coughing up a small amount of blood. She looked back to Chanyeol and tried to reason with him,

"Chanyeol it's me, it's Avery. Don't do this! You're better than this! Fight it!"

Chanyeol reached forward and tentatively cupped her cheek. She smiled slightly, fear receding a little in her mind,

"Chanyeol?"

She asked. He looked at her and tilted his head, almost in understanding as he leaned in closer to her,

"It's Avery."

She said softly as he leaned closer to her lips. He looked into her eyes one more time as she heard Baekhyun yell up to her,

"Avery??? Stay away from him!!!"

She turned to answer him just as the door to Chanyeol's room burst open, giving Tao and Chen a front row view of Chanyeol sinking his fangs into Avery's neck.
