"(Y/N), clean the kitchen, your room, the living room, and take out the trash" Joy said

"That's a lot but I think I'll be able to do it" You say and huff

"Good" She said and left to go to work

You worked that whole day when you realized that Mali and Calum were just relaxing the whole day. You thought it was unfair but continued to work. When Joy came back, she cooked dinner and you three sat at the inner table since your dad was on a business trip.

'(Y/N), I should have made you cook" She said and you look up at her

"But mom, you know I can't cook"

"Why not? It's what you do best isn't it?" Joy said and you raised a brow

"Well...I can't so.." You say and finish your dinner. You didn't get offended but just very confused

"Here go wash these dishes" She said and Calum and Mali looked up and looked from her to you

"Mom, I worked all day-"

"And? I say do something so do it" She said and you suck your teeth and get up and take the dishes. You start to wash when you heard someone clear their throat behind you. You turn around and see Calum standing there.

"What?" You asked angrly

"What's going on between you and mom?"

"She's been treating me like a slave" You mutter and he walks to your side and tries to help you

"No Calum, don't help me. I'll be fine without your help" You say

"Gosh, she's a little animal. She doesn't even have talent or even the looks" Joy said and you cried as you do the dishes

"Don't you ever say that about (Y/N). She's beautiful and talented. Stop treating her like a slave because she isn't one. So what she's black! That doesn't mean you make her do things she had no apart of!" Mali yelled

"Mali-Koa" Joy warned

"No! I want you to apologies to her! She didn't deserve to be treated the way you treated her" Mali said and stomped away

"Mali it's fine" You say quietly and Joy looks at you

"Sorry" She says and walks off. You knew she wasn't really sorry but you took it anyway
