Love wins

This chapter may or may not be me expressing my feelings towards the horrific Orlando shooting last week.

This chapter contains touchy subjects so Please read with Caution.

"Hey Nico, can I talk to you?" Said Jet nervously.
This confused Nico, why is Jet being nice to me? He thought.
"Uh...sure."
Jet gestured for Nico to meet him around the back of the Apollo cabin.
As soon as they were out of sight of the other campers Jet pinned Nico to the wall if the cabin.
Nico did have his sword on hand but dropped it in shock when Jet lunged him.
Jet swung and punched Nico in the eye. Nico winced but wasn't knocked unconscious.
"STAY AWAY FROM WILL. You are poisoning his mind with Gay thoughts and turning him into some gross Fag like yourself. I will not have you steal my brother from me!" He yelled at Nico.
"I'm not doing anything to him, you can't make someone Gay Jet. It's not a disease." Nico defended

"It's the wrong way of thinking. Will was perfectly straight and normal until you came along and filled his brain with thoughts of Dicks and now he's turning into a faggot like yo-"

"WHAT did you just say to him?" Drew interrupts coming around the corner of the Apollo cabin.
"This doesn't concern you Drew." Jet spat giving her a death glare.
She clenched her fists and walked over to Jet and Nico.
" How dare you make fun of him for liking a guy, how does his love life effect you in any way?"
She said aggressively.
"It's disgusting and wrong." Jet snarled.
"Do you see Nico going around beating up every straight couple he see's because he doesn't personally like girls too? People in this world should be able to love and feel happiness without homophobic dirtbags like you beating/bagging the s*** out of them."

Nico stood there with his eyes wide open.
" If you ever go near Nico again I swear to the Gods, I will pray to my mother that you never find happiness or love as strong as Nico and Will's."
Jet laughed,
"Oh what a threat. I'm so scared." He said sarcastically.
Drew scowled at him,
"If that doesn't scare you, then this should" then Drew kicked him in the balls,
Jet winced and fell to the ground.
"STAY AWAY FROM NICO OR I WILL STAB YOU!!" She charm spoke.
Jet went into a charm speak trance and ran off.
Nico and Drew stood there awkwardly.
"Um...thanks." Nico said finally.
"Don't mention it. No seriously, don't mention this to anyone. I have a reputation to uphold." She said.

"Why did you help me? I mean you hate me, you could have just let Jet beat the crap out of me but you didn't, why?" Nico asked.
Drew let out a sigh.
"My brother was bullied at school for being gay. Every night he would come home crying because some kid at school had called him a Fag or disgusting and other horrible names." Said Drew not making eye contact with Nico.
"He committed suicide 5 years ago because of it."
Her eyes welled up and she leaned on the Apollo cabin for support
"Ugh, damn it Nico this mascara is expensive." She said carefully wiping under her eyes with her fingers.
"I'm sorry." Said Nico.
"Just because I stood up for you this one time doesn't mean we're friends. I'm still mad at Will for choosing you over me but that doesn't mean I'm against his choices. I still care for Will and if he's happy I'm happy, even if that means letting him be with you."
Nico nodded,
"I hope that your mum helps you find someone to love soon."
Drew smiled. Not her usual stuck up 'I'm better than you' smile, but a real genuine one.
"You're a good kid Nico, and I'm NOT going to repeat that."
Nico chuckled a bit.
"Cya Drew, and thanks again." Said Nico walking away from the Apollo cabin.
"Whatever freak." Drew responded, but she smiled letting him know that she didn't mean it.

"NICO!! What happened to your face." Asked Will frantically as Nico walked into the infirmary.
Out of the corner of his eye, Nico saw Jet quickly leave the room.
"I...fell over, but I'm okay."
"No you're not, you're going to have a black eye for about a week if you don't get ice in that soon."
Will pulled an ice pack out of the mini fridge and passed it to Nico to put on his eye.

Drew knocked on the infirmary door.
Will opened it and scowled at her,
"Why are you here?" Will asked in an aggressive tone.
"Gee thanks for the warm welcome Will, is Di Ange-freak in there?"
Will scowled at her. He clenched his fists and let out a slow angry breath, as if he was a bull waiting to charge.
"Yes I'm in here Drew." Nico called out before Will could have a go at him.
"Give him this will you. He left it behind the Apollo cabin when-" Drew looked over at Nico who was shaking his head furiously to signalise that he didn't want her to tell Will anything.
"-I had to tell him something." She lied. Will crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow.
"Just give him the fricking sword Will, I have places to be." Said Drew,"oh and tell your girlfriend that he owes me." She said before walking away.

"What was that about?" Will asked.
"She helped me out with something, that's all." Replied Nico taking the sword and putting it on the bed next to him.
Will frowned and looked down.
"Hey" Nico said raising Will's chin.
"What's wrong?"
Will let out a deep breath.
"I know Jet did this to you. He ran in here and yelled at me how much he hated you." Said Will tearing up a bit.
"It's ok, I don't care if Jet likes me or not. I can handle myself." Said Nico reassuringly.
"I know but you shouldn't have to deal with this," said Will gently running his fingers over Nico's bruised cheek. "It's not fair. Was Drew in on it too?" Will asked.
Nico let out a deep breath,
"She told me not to tell you but I would be lying if I told you that she had nothing to do with it so I'll tell you, if you promise not to tell a soul." Will nodded.
"She stood up for me and charm spoke Jet to leave me alone."
Will tilted his head like a confused puppy.
"Why?"
"She said that she still cares about you and if you're happy, then she's happy even if that means being with me." Nico carefully left out the bit about Drew's brother.
Will ran his hands though his hair.
"I have mixed feelings towards that girl." Said Will leaning his elbows on his knees.
"She's just another teenager struggling to find love Will, that's all there is to it."
Will smiled. He lent forward to kiss Nico but he put his hand over Will's mouth.
"Doctor patient relationships aren't allowed doctor Solace. You could lose your job." Nico teased.
"Lucky I'm not a real doctor." Said Will removing Nico's hand from his mouth.
Nico chuckled and kissed him properly. Nico placed his hands either side of Will's head then ran his fingers through his hair.
"I love you Nico." Will said against the kiss.
Nico giggled,
"Really? I would never have guessed that." Nico said sarcastically.
When they pulled apart.
"Now get some sleep. Doctors orders. You shouldn't have left in the first place." Said Will standing up.
Nico smirked,
"I thought you said you weren't a real doctor? You can no longer use that excuse without contradicting yourself."
"Damn it, I walked right into that one." Said Will chuckling a little.
Nico laughed,
"Yeah ya did."
