Chapter 28

I quickly put on my costume and shoes and ran inside my bathroom to see how I looked.

I was running late for the Halloween party and had called Nathan to tell him to meet me there rather than at my dorm.

I loved how I looked.

I had changed my costume last minute and instead of wearing knee length white socks I opted for thigh high stocking and black garters to give it that sexy edge.

I have to say though my dress was amazing with just enough fake blood splattered on it.

I had curled my hair into pretty blonde ringlets before shaking my hair wildly and teasing it a little to give it that messy effect, then I added some plastic twigs and leaves to make it more authentic.

My makeup took the longest, I didn't like how it looked the first time I did it so I had to re-do my makeup about three times.

I had on blood red lipstick outlined in lip pencil that was a few shades darker to give me a nice red pout. As for my eyes they were done in a smoky grey with thick black eyeliner and mascara that made my blue-grey eyes pop and look rather captivating.

I was so happy with how it all turned out especially with my weapon.

I don't even know if you can imagine how hard it was to find a broken wine bottle made out of rubber.

Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible team would have even struggled, that's how difficult it was!

I quickly fluffed my hair and sprayed some more hair spray before slipping on my black heels and stumbling out my door speed-walking/running in the direction of the school concert hall where the party was happening.

"Wow Sam! You look sexy!" One of my friends from my English class shouted over the band playing up on the stage.

"Thanks Jono' !" I shouted back.

"Want to dance?" He asked loudly.

I bit my lip hesitantly. Jonathan was one of the nicest guys at this school and talked to me since my first days here. It's just... he got a...little crazy sometimes...

"One dance won't hurt!"

"Ok! One dance!" I agreed leading him towards the crowd of dancing people in front of the stage.

"One dance." He smiled.

One dance turned into about five songs.

I was growing incredibly tired of dancing and wanted to sit down, even though Jono was nice enough to get me punch whenever I was thirsty -which turned out to be nonstop- my mouth still felt incredibly dry.

"I'm going to go sit down for a bit somewhere!" I shouted into Jonathan's ear.

"What?" He shouted back.

I repeated myself louder.

He nodded and offered to come with me but I refused and told him I would be fine.

This would give me a chance to find Nathan...

I walked through the crowd of dancing students towards the table with cheap finger foods and cookies in the shape of witches and spiders and walked towards the punch bowls.

I filled myself a cup and drank before filling myself another...and another.

I had never been this thirsty in my life... maybe it was because of the heat of all the dancers and lights?

Suddenly a strong smell hit my nose and my stomach churned, I ran to the girl's toilet in the hall and slammed open the door of one of the cubical.

The awful stench just increased and I hurled over the dirty toilet bowl emptying the contents of my stomach.

I stayed on my knees in front of the toilet dry heaving.

When I was sure I wouldn't throw up again I got up and pulled the metal chain to flush the toilet.

After quickly rinsing my mouth I headed in the direction of the doors squeezing passed people and pushed it open stepping into the cool night for some much needed fresh air.

I looked up at the sky and surprisingly there were hardly any stars.

My head shot to the right where a loud scream-like noise came from the back of the school.

And for some fucked up reason I did the one thing everyone knows not to do. Yep, that's right... I ran towards the scream.

I didn't even think what could have caused the scream, didn't think to go and get anyone. No. I just ran.

I quickly climbed up the wall that bordered the school and screamed when I saw what it was before remembering it was Halloween...

There was a guy in 'Jason' costume panting on the floor lifting himself up on his arms and knees.

He looked up and pulled his mask off.

"Sam?" He said at the same time I said "Nathan?"

"What are you doing here? I've been looking all over for you!" I shouted.

"Sam... You need...to go." He gritted his teeth continuing his climbing.

"What are you talking-" I stopped and looked up at the sky.

It was a full moon.

"Sam. GO!" He shouted.

I opened my mouth to reply when my vision started to blur and red spots appeared.

My hand shot to my head that was now covered in sweat.

"I-I don't feel so good." I said as my whole body started to cramp up and I felt like throwing up.

"SAM! Get away from me now! This isn't safe!"

"I can't." I said through gritted teeth as my knees buckled out from under me and I fell onto the hard ground.

A scream left my mouth as an excruciating pain shot through my whole body starting from my feet and my hands.

I glanced at my nail and whimpered as the started to visibly grow in length becoming thicker and more curved. Hair sprouted from my arms and my fingers turned into hairy little chunks.

"What-what's happening?" I asked Nathan who was staring at me wide eyed.

I screamed as pain shot through my legs as if someone was snapping them and screamed even louder noticing the extent of white hair that was growing on them.

My nose was extending as a snout appeared in my vision and my hands looked like paws.

"This can't be happening." I howled. "This can't be real!"

I was one of them.

I was a werewolf.

Obviously there will be a second book because of the ending ;)
