My Life is Unwritten

Chapter 25

It was after the meeting, the students were grabbing their stuff and getting ready to leave. Me and Dustin were in the boys basketball team locker room, sitting on a bench, his legs were laying on top of mine and I was tying his shoes.
The sound of slamming metal lockers ringed in my head, and I knew that it would for a while.
Suddenly, another guy on the basketball team came over to us, looked at Dustin, and said to him, "You know, long hair is for girls". Dustin looked frustrated, I was too. I've always loved his hair long, and it was sexist to say that he couldn't have it, only girls can.
"I don't think 'hair' has a gender", Dustin said, smartly. The other guy rolled his eyes and walked away. Dustin and I looked at each other. "Ignore him",I said, "he's not worth your time". Dustin smiled slightly, "Nah, it's okay, don't you worry about it princess". I smiled and pushed the hair from his eyes and tucked it behind his ears, "honey, I'm always gonna be there for you" I said, "I love you".
"I love you too" he said. Then we kissed. A couple minutes later, we were walking out of the school, holding hands.
Suddenly, Cleo came up from behind me and started walking with us. "Hey love birds" she said. "Hey, Cleo", I said. "Bonjour, Cleo", Dustin said.
"Did you guys hear what happened to Tabitha?", she asked. This couldn't be good. "No",me and Dustin replied at the same time. Aww!
"Well, apparently she ran away today" Cleo said, with seriousness in her voice. Dustin and I looked at each other, than back to Cleo. "I'll go find her" I said, about to walk past Cleo, but she stopped me. "Wait, Zoe you can't" she warned. I looked at her with confusion,"Why not?"
"Zoe, you don't even know where she is, she could have been kidnapped for all we know", Cleo said. "She's right babe, it could be dangerous" Dustin said. "I'll be fine, honey", I reassured him. "You sure?", Cleo asked. I smiled at her like any best friend would, "positive".
