Lizzy was dragging me from one group of friends to the next. Being the most popular girl in school she knew everyone, which meant I was going to meet everyone if she had it her way. I was taking shot with each new group I met; I never drank before so after the 3rd shot of vodka my head started to feel a little groggy. I tried to refuse a shot of hypnotic from a girl named Sara but Lizzy gave me the death stare implying I was being rude, so I took it and forced it down. After that I stayed with my red cup of keg beer, it was warm but it gave me the excuse not to take anymore shot. People were starting to leave and it was then that I noticed the time.

"Holey fuck! Its 11pm lizzy!"

I didn't dare look at my phone; I knew well enough I would have a few text mesg and maybe an angry voicemail or two. I decided I would just deal with my mother when I got home, maybe I could avoid it for a little while longer.

"calm down, I'll have you home by 12, you only live down the street ill drop you off when I leave soon" she assured me.

I knew I wasn't completely drunk but walking three streets up wasn't appealing and the task didn't seem manageable in my current state.  I decided to let Lizzy linger with her friends and take the couch to clear my head and prepare another speech id have to give my mom for staying out so late.

"Having fun?" a voice called to me from behind the couch.

It wasn't until than I realized I had made myself a little too comfortable spread across on the couch lying down.

"Hey Josh, ya I'm just a little tired. First time drinker right here." I let out a little laugh, trying not to make it awkward.

Josh was the quarterback of the football team with a full scholarship to UCA. He was intimidating to say the least.

"HA, you look good though, I'm surprised you lasted this long than" his grin made me smile.

"Well, I'm stronger than I look I guess." I replied.

"How about I make you one last drink? I don't want to brag but I make a mean tequila sunrise."

I didn't know what to say, Josh Mcosh was offering to make me a drink, and I didn't even think he knew my name. The way he was smiling at me made me blush and even though I was leaving soon I couldn't turn down josh in his own house. He was gorgeous and any punishment my mom had lined up for me was going to be worth it for 20 more minutes with josh.

"Sure, but only if you make one for yourself too" I said.

"Wouldn't have it any other way, I'll be right back with your order miss." And he was gone.

It must have been all the shots I took because I never felt more confident than I did right now. I didn't feel the slightest form of anxiety while talking to josh and I could talk in complete sentences around him without sounding like a dumbass. After a few mins he appeared from the kitchen holding two glasses of what I assumed to be this tequila sunrise.

"Here you go, on the house" he laughs.

"Why thank you." I took a sip.

It was strong and I didn't think I had it in me to Finnish it, but I didn't want josh to think I didn't like it so I took big sips as he talked to me about his future football career. He sat next to me on the couch. We both faced each other sitting Indian style. We were talking like we have been friends all year. I told him about my love for drama class and he talked about football. Time must have been passing faster than I realized because when I looked up we were the only two in the room.

"Where did Lizzy go? We were supposed to leave at 12" I asked

"I saw her head upstairs with Chris, give them a few more mins." He winked

My head was pounding, this last drink made me feel worse than all the shots I took that night. I knew he made it strong but dam, its affecting me worse than I thought.

"I... I got to...um..Head home." I tried to stand up but failed as my knees buckled and made contact with the hardwood floor.

"Easy Nat, don't worry I'll get Lizzy in a few and she will drive you home. Just lay down and rest." he wrapped his arm around my waist helping me to my feet. His touch gave me Goosebumps and I started to relax.

"I'm so tired, if I stay on this couch I'm going to fall asleep" I told him

He let out a small snicker, or was that a laugh? He pulled my feet so I was stretched out lying down, and began to slowly run his fingers through my hair. It felt nice, but I was too relaxed. I haven't felt the slightest bit of anxiety from his touch and it worried me how calm I was being. After a few more mins I needed to get up, my eyes were heavy and I knew I wasn't going to last much longer. I started to roll over but I couldn't. my brain was commanding my body to move but my body refused and stayed relax in the same position.

"jo..josh... I can't move, I feel funny..." I pleaded

"it's okay Nat, it's going to be a good night." He whispered in my ear

I wanted to ask what he meant by that but his touch on my body gave me a clue.
