"Nat!" Lizzy called out."Nat, where are you? Find me!" She was running down a dark hallway searching for me again. She was running right towards me, screaming my name in panic. I just stood there; completely aware that it was a dream and wondered what was happing to my body while I was asleep. Lizzy ran right up to me and stopped dead in her tracks a few inches from my face.
"Nat?" she whispered. As if she could sense that I was close.
I reached out to touch her freckled face, but my hand slid right through her as if I was trying to grab air.
"I'm here, Liz." I whispered back, knowing she couldn't hear me.
"I'm here, and I'm dying. I'm so sorry." I started to choke on my words as I said goodbye to my best friend. I wanted her to hear me, I wanted to tell her to stop looking, I was dying if I wasn't dead already and she was never going to find me. I wasn't sure if she was really looking for me in the real world, or if I only dreamed that she was; but seeing her so scared for me made me believe she was truly worried wherever she was.
"I love you Lizzy, please take care of my mom." I wanted to cry but my dream wouldn't allow it, instead I started gauging; all of a sudden I was bent over hurling out blood. I couldn't stop throwing up blood. Over and over I was heaving trying to gain control of my body. My legs buckled and I collided to the floor in the pile of blood. My hands and feet were covered and I couldn't get up. Lizzy was half way down the hall when her head snapped up and looked back.
"Nat?" she gasped as our eyes locked. Her face lit up and she bolted towards me.
She was just feet away when the hallway went black and the pain in my stomach subsided.
My eyes fluttered open and I woke up in a very familiar room.
The log beams above me was the first thing I saw and I knew right away I was back in the room I was first help captive at. I sat up from the bed and realized I was in no pain at all. The bed was covered in blood and I quickly threw the blankets off and inventoried my injuries. Nothing.... My head was spinning with confusion. Had I dreamed about falling from the mountain? I remember seeing my own bone piercing through my leg, the black blood surrounding me.No it wasn't a dream, I felt the pain, and I felt the cold. It was real, I know it.
I reexamined by body and couldn't find a scratch; the amount of blood on the bed was enough to drain a person dry. I swung my legs over the end and noticed the room for the first time.
The room was completely destroyed; it didn't look anything the way we had left it. The end table was in pieces, wood splinters where all crossed the room. Huge claw marks where dug into the walls, so deep I could see the dry wall. The light hanging from the ceiling was flickering, and cracked. The only thing intact was the door, it was shut and I could only guess that it was locked too.
I got up from the bed, slowly placing my feet to the ground as to avoid the broken pieces of wood everywhere. My legs where a little wobbly but they didn't hurt. I knocked on the door and called out to Ari.
"Ari" I yelled.
"Open the door, I'm scared." I pleaded. Why would he bring me back here and not to his apartment I wondered. But before I could answer myself the door clicked and opened.
I staggered back a few steps as the door opened and Tobias walked in.
My heart fell from my chest and my whole body tensed in surprised. I recalled being on the mountain and seeing his face but I thought I was just hallucinating.
He was covered in blood; his blond hair was dirty and shaggy looking. His suite was torn and he looked nothing like the handsome guard I remembered.
