I woke up to voices outside the room.

"And you brought her here? What the fuck where you thinking Ari?" a female voice said.

"I had to; she is going to die if I let her go. They will find her and you know they won't let us explain." Aristotle replied.

"us?!" "There is no us! I can't believe you dragged me into this!" her voice was fierce and strong.

"Lily, you know I wouldn't ask you of this if I had any other option. You are the only person I trust." He begged.

"Fine, but I want to see her, and then I'll make my decision." She demanded

I laid back down pretending to be asleep as the door clicked open.

"I know you're awake, I can hear your heart beating faster than usually" Aristotle crossed the room and leaned over me.

I opened one eye and sat up pretending to stretch like I was just waking up.

Across the room was a young girl. She couldn't have been any older than 16. She was tiny with her short blond hair just touching her ears. Her skin was dark compared to Aristotle, with an olive color that looked like the perfect tan. The only thing that stopped her from looking so pure and innocent was two black pupils were her eyes should be. Her eyes where just two black orbs that seemed to capture your soul and hypnotize you.

"This is Lily. Lily this is Natalia." His introductions were as pathetic as his hospitality skills.

"Hello Natalia..." Her voice matched her eyes. Dark, strong and mysterious.

"Um... Hi" I stuttered.

"I am here to help you on your mission. You do exactly what I say, when I say and how I tell you. Do you understand?" she was firm, and unlike Aristotle I didn't want to argue with her. She had a dominance about her that I was not going to challenge. So instead of speaking I just nodded my head.

"So that means you're going to help us?" Aristotle grinned.

"I can't deny she is a royal, I can smell her blood from here." She said

"Uh... Are. Are you a vampire too?" I asked

"Ha ha, silly girl no, I am far superior than my friend Ari here. I am a hybrid but I was and will always be a witch first." She said proudly, holding her head high.

"Witch?" I didn't mean to but said out loud.

"Yes hunny a witch. And not your wicked witch of the west kind. I am the first and only hybrid of my coven and I have come to assist you.' She bowed her head, a sign of respect.

"Assist me with what?" I asked. Not sure if I really wanted to know though.

"With taking back your throne of course, my dear." She smiled

"NO, I am not a royal. I don't want to be a royal, and I definitely don't want a throne. Your king can have it. I just want to go back home, so if you want to assist me, assist me with that, MY DEAR." I said the last two words as sarcastically as I could.

"Well, like the rest of us, you don't get to choose child. You will grow to respect me and you will take the throne if you are deemed worthy, the sooner you let your old life go, the easier it will be for all of us." Her respect was gone and her words felt like knives.

Let my old life go? No way.

"I have friends. I have a mother, college and a whole life ahead of me. You can't expect me to give up on my life just to appease some agenda the two of you have. I am in control of what I do and no vampire or witch will tell me otherwise. I will not be thrown into this life and I will definitely not be a prisoner another minute." I glared at her, making her feel the seriousness I felt.

"Spoken like a true royal." She grinned, pleased. "You must leave your friends and family behind because once the others find out about you, they will be the first ones killed in the upcoming war. Any ties you have with loved ones will be used against you and we can't afford for you to be weaken by the love you hold for these mortals." She explained.

"War!!" I screamed. "I am only 18 years old, and I am human. I am not fighting in your war and those mortals are the only people I care about." I spoke the words clearer than I felt. I was starting to feel the lucky charm making their way back up. This was too much and I was ready to wake up from this lucid dream now.

Lily smiled at me as if she was being entertained. Like my anger was amusing. "This is not our war, this is your war and we fight for you." She cleared her throat. "If you want your mortals to live, you will come with us and do as you're told. When this is over, you can decide what to do.  You will be queen, and God himself can't tell you what to do." She spoke softly.

"Until then, we need to find out where you got your vampire blood, and who we have as allies. It's going to be a long journey your majesty and you need to realize you were born into this life whether you knew it or not, this is your destiny and you will accept it one day." She opened the door to the room and opened her arm as a gesture for me to leave.

I have been waiting for ever to leave this room but my legs remained glued to my spot.  I don't want to be queen, I didn't want to be here but I also didn't want my mother or best friend to die because of a selfish decision.  Maybe I could play along and see for myself how this was all going to plan out. If I learned that this was all some muse than there would be nothing stopping me from going home. I swallowed my pride and turned towards Ari.

"When do we leave?"
