Chapter Seven~ The Mysterious Black Book.

After Professor Dumbledore made his welcome speech for the new years and the wonderful feast was over Shannon made a quick trip to the toilet. In the toilets she found a small black book lying on the tiled floor. She picked it up and flicked through it, the pages were empty, it was a diary. She got out her quill and pot of ink from her pockets and wrote 'My name is Shannon Finnigan.' onto the first page. The words suddenly vanished and another sentence appeared replying to her. 'Hello Shannon Finnigan, my name is Tom Riddle.' She was shocked, the diary spoke back to her. 'Nice to meet you. I'm really stuck, I'm in love with someone, will you help me?' She put back. Again the ink disappeared and another message replaced it. 'Just do what you think is best...Will you do me a favour?' Shannon was confused, why would a diary ask her a favour? 'Okay?' She replied. 'Help me open the Chamber Of Secrets, I will help you get the boy to like you back, I promise. I can then hurt someone and you can write a message I tell you on the wall. It would make me happy.'  It asked. Shannon was taken aback. 'I'm not sure Tom. I don't want to hurt anyone...' The message took a while to answer. 'You WILL do it.' it said before magic shot out of the book.

Shannon felt strange. She turned to her left to see a young handsome boy staring at her. "Tom Riddle at your service, follow me beautiful." He explained. With out questioning him she followed him. She opened up the chamber with out knowing and saw a monster rise. She saw Mrs Norris get hurt and Tom hanging her up above a wall. Shannon heard herself scream inside her mind for her to stop writing the message on the wall with Mrs Norris' blood but something was making her carry on. Once she finished she ran to her dormitory where she snapped out of her trance and started to cry about what she had just witnessed.

Harry was laughing with Ron and Hermione when he heard a weird whisper in his head. He could only hear it. They all then followed the screams that they heard and came across a wall which above it was Mr Filch's cat Mrs Norris. She was hanging motionless. On the wall in blood was a message that read 'The Chamber of Secrets has been opened: Enemies of the Heir Beware.' They all shared looks of bewilderment. What was this Chamber of Secrets? Harry then looked around. "Where's Shannon? She never came back from the toilet?" Harry asked feeling confused. Hermione placed a hand on his shoulder. "She's probably in the common room." Hermione reassured. Mr Filch and the teachers then arrived. Mr Filch was heart broken. Professor Dumbledore informed him that she was petrified then sent everyone to their common rooms. Once Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny returned to the common room they realised Shannon wasn't there either. "I'll go see if she's in the dormitory." Ginny suggested. She soon found her.

Ginny opened the door to find Shannon in tears curled up on the bed crying her eyes out. "Shannon? What's happened?" Ginny wondered hugging her tightly in her arms. Shannon looked at her and lied "I'm ill, that's all, I'm just going to go to sleep." Ginny left her feeling worried and explained to Harry and the others what was wrong.
