Chapter Eight~The Attacks Continue.

The next few days Shannon carried on confiding to Tom in the diary. Something about him made her want to carry on speaking to him and reveal her deepest feelings and darkest secrets. He was sweet, caring and understanding. He would then force her to open the chamber once more under his influence. She was completely under his control. She opened the chamber another two times, resulting in the petrification of Colin Creevey and Justin Finch-Fletchely. Everyone noticed she was acting strangely, she spent most nights crying and her skin had become pale and cold. "Maybe ye should go an' see Madame Pomfrey sis, ye look really ill." Seamus suggested. Shannon gave him a hard glare. "I'm fine." She snapped back. Seamus looked taken aback, his sister was not the same. "I'm 'ere if ye need me. I'll see ye later." He said.

Harry was sat in Transfiguration thinking about Shannon, he couldn't understand why she was acting the way she was. He then decided to ask Professor McGongoll the question that was on everyone's minds. "Professor, what is the Chamber of Secrets?" Professor McGonagoll took a deep breath before she told them. "Now I presume you know of the founders of this school? Well, the founder of Slytherin, Salazar Slytherin enjoyed expressing his views about Muggle-Borns. Legends tells us that he returned to Hogwarts to build a secret chamber which contains a monster. Like I say, it's a legend." She explained. Everyone shared looks of fright, there could be a monster underneath the ground that held them, and they wouldn't know it.

Useless, vain teacher Professor Lockhart decided to organise a duelling class. When Harry was duelling with a Slytherin, the opponent cast the spell 'Serpensortia'. The end of his wand exploded and a snake shot out of it and fell heavily on the floor. Harry told it not to harm him. He then made it disappear. Everyone glared at him bewildered. Harry discovered he could speak Parseltongue, snake language. This was rare and was a ability Salavar Slytherin had. This scared Harry.
