Chapter Nine

I decided to take Jordan with me on the road, considering Seth knew now, and we would still be rooming together. Plus this meant I could be with Jordan full time now. As I unpacked a few of her things, Seth and her were laying on his bed. Grabbing her pajamas, I walked over and handed them to Seth. He smiled up at me and said, "Thanks for letting me be apart of her life."
I nodded, turning back around and walked back to my bed, flopping down, exhaustion settling in. Jordan was babbling  away as Seth changed her. Once he finished, he brought her over to me, sitting on the edge of my bed and said, "Mommas tired huh baby girl?"
"I forgot how much it takes to take care of her."
"Well, I'm here to help."
"But for how long," I muttered.
He sighed exasperated, "I'm not going anywhere Dani."
He put her in her makeshift crib, rubbing her back, as her eyes closed. Her little fingers closing over Seths hand.
Once her hand slipped from his, he walked back over to me, standing in front of me, his waist eye level. He took my hands in his, and said, "Dani, I still love you. And being with you and our daughter has made me realize more so than ever before, that I fucked up royally. Sweet cheeks, I would give up everything to be with you and Jordan. You two are my world."
"Prove it then, prove that you would be willing do anything to be with us, drop the Authority."
"It's not that simple, it has to be planned out."
"Coward, you can't even leave them."
"Ok, you tell me how to drop Hunter, Steph, Randy, Kane, Jamie, and Joey all in one night."
"Simple, payback them like you did us."
"I don't...."
"You're a fucking coward Rollins, you'll never have the balls to stand up to them."
He turned and walked away, his shoulders slumping, as he sat down on his bed, his eyes never leaving mine.
