Chapter Fifteen:
~*Aric*~
Aric stood in the corner, watching his Mom FINALLY finish taking care of Katalina. He crossed his arms as she groaned in pain, wincing from guilt and hatred at whoever did this. "Mom?" Jillia glanced up in between sponging Katalina's face and body. She was covered in blood, most likley her own. "Is she going to be OK?"
Jillian brushed the last of the blood from Katalina's face and said, "Yes, Aric, but she might not wake up for a while. Don't stress her out, OK?"
Aric gave her a small smile. "OK, Mom."
Jillian stared at her son for a moment. Aric quirked a brow. "What?" Aric said, a little irritated. Jillian laughed and stood up, stretching her arms.
"Nothing, Aric, I've just been waiting for you to declare the death of the monsters who did this to your mate, that is all. However, I can see you have other things on your mind. Like your mates health."
Aric hadn't left Katalina's side, but while she was a large part of his thoughts, he couldn't stop himself from imagianing his hands around the throat of whoever did this. And he didn't want the monster to be scrawny, no he wanted him buff and strong! So that Aric at least had some fun killing the human. That is, of course, if the monster is human.
Jillian saw her son deep in thought, smiled, and slipped out the door, leaving Aric in his thoughts.
Katalina mumbled something in her sleep, causing Aric to look at her face. "Aric..." She mumbled, her lips twisting into a smile. It's been 20 hours since she came to Aric's house.
Few people came in and said something to Aric, knowing that he most likley wanted to think about his mate for the time being.
Aric touched Katalina's hand. "Kat?"
Katalina's blue eyes fluttered open, her breath caught. "I don't know the Jensons!" She screamed.
~*Katalina*~
Her head pounded, but she managed to scream. "I don't know the Jensons!" Her breathing labored. Her nose throbbed. She lifted her hand to touch it, but something else was in her hand. Or rather, on it. "Kat?"
"Aric?" Katalina breathed, attempting to sit up and failing. "What--?"
"Why wouldn't you know me?" Aric asked, his eyes full of concern. But Katalina had questions of her own.
"Where am I?" She questioned. Aric looked at her.
"My house."
"Your house?!" Katalina squeaked, looking around the room. The sun shone threw the windows very faintly. "W-what am I doing here?" She whispered to Aric, very much aware of the heat his finger tips were giving off.
He sighed. "You were beaten up." Katalina knew the answer to that, she wanted to know WHY she was here! Aric seemed to notice Katalina's irrtation. "I found you in an alley and brought you here, Kat. Don't stress out."
Katalina gave him a weak smile and leaned against the fluffy pillows beneath her head. "Thanks, Aric." She closed her eyes, suddenly feeling very exhausted. Soon she couldn't life her eyelids back up. She heard a low chuckle, followed by a press of warm lips to her forehead before she drifted to sleep in complete happiness.
Why am I shaking, Katalina asked herself. No, she wasn't shaking; SOMEONE was shaking HER. Her eyes lifted lazily open. "Huh?" She mumbled, blinking a few times.
"Katalina!" Someone cried, their voice cracking slightly. Katalina's blue eyes focused on an unknown female with black wavy hair that cascaded down her thin shoulders and to her elbow. Her sparkling jade green eyes were lined with worry.
