Monday

Josh

The day started like any other day. It was another crappy Monday. I woke up at 5:30 and showered and dressed like normal. I was out of the house by 6:20 dressed in black skinny jeans and a black t-shirt.

As I got into the my truck I sighed and buckled up before pulling off. Thoughts of today flew around in my mind. I pulled up to school and parked in my normal spot. As i was getting out of my truck, i noticed Tyler's spot was empty. Maybe he was just late.

Physics was first and uneventful like mormal. Then it was english. Tyler's seat was empty. Maybe a doctors appointment?

Next up was band which was out in the field working on the drum line for the next football game. Lunch rolled around after and I didnt see Tyler still. Worry had started to set in. This kid didn't really know me but I was all worried about him as if we had been friends forever.

After lunch it was calculus and as per usual, tons of home work was given. Then it was french which I was pretty okay with. After that was history, ever eventful for today was project day.

The last class of the day was p.e. I didn't really like it but I was told i am pretty good in it so it didnt bother me. I noticed Tyler wasn't in class and I ran a hand through my blue hair. Where was he?

After school, I was thanking God I didn't have band practice. That was on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I drove to the shop and walked in. But what i saw next completely baffled me. I saw tyler already sitting at his normal table. I froze. He wasn't at school but he's here. One question resinated in my head.
Why?

Tyler

I heard the door open to the Dun's parlor. I didn't lift my head from my folded arms to see who it was because i knew it was Josh when i heard him take in a breath of shock.

"Hey" i said into the sleeves of my hoodie still not bothering to look up.

"Uh..he-s-salutations." And this is when i had to lift my head.

"Salutations?...makes me want crackers" i spoke as i stretched and stood up from the table by the window to stand face-to-face with Josh. He nervously laughed for an uncomfortable amount of time.

"Oh..ha..yeah..uh s-so what brings y-you here?" I looked at him in confusion and tilted my head at him. Then i smirked.

"I come here practically everyday, man. But um.. I need the calculus homework because i wasn't there today. Do you have it?" I gave him a soft smile and it only grew when he answered.
It was so cute when he was nervous.

"Uh ye-yeah i have it." He pulled his planner out of his backpack. Who actually uses their school planner? I smirked at him again. Oh you little pastel prince you are so adorable.

"Here." He handed his open planner to todays date. I took out my phone and took a picture of the assignment.

"Thanks, J." I tried to stifle my laughter at his cuteness. His jaw dropped ever so slightly, his pupils were big enough to be considered black holes, and his cheeks have been permanently painted crimson red since he got here.

"It's..i-its no problem re-really." Josh ran a hand through his messy and faded blue hair. He looked confused and his eyes met mine to catch my staring.

"Why weren't you at school today?" His brows furrowed but his eyes were still soft.  The serious tension in the room felt like weights on my shoulders but i played it off as cool as i could. I am an actor after all. I got the lead role in the school musical.

"If you must know, i skipped today. If i went to school that would've meant basketball practice afterwards." I crossed my arms and stared at my floral vans. I may be a good actor but i'm a horrible lier. I can't look at someone when im lying to them. But do i want to tell him the truth? Heck no. Well not yet. I may have known him my whole life, and i may be in love with him but i don't exactly trust him. And well also, i don't want to come off as weak and complain about my problems because im a top. I need to set my dominance you know?

"Oh... I see." We awkwardly stood there in silence for a moment before he started to walk to the ice cream bar. He went behind it and put on an apron. I walked over to the bar and sat down on one of the stools and rested my head on my hand. Again i began to stare at him as he was getting ready for his shift and i smiled.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" He smiled back as he was washing his hands.

"I dunno. I guess its kinda how we've known each other for practically our whole lives and yet we have never spoke really. But i feel comfortable around you for some reason." I bit my lip at that my last sentence. Was that too forward? He began wiping down the counter.

"Yeah i get what you mean actually." He smiled brighter and looked at me. He stopped wiping down the counter.

"I feel the same wa-" the ding of the shops automatic doorbell filled the entire room. Josh looked away from me and smiled at a red headed girl walking up to the counter.

"Hey bab-" he began but she immediately cut him off. The look on her face was not a happy-to-see-you-too-babe face. I could've sworn i started to see smoke coming out of her ears.

"Don't 'hey babe' me you dick. You fucking left me at school and i had to walk all the fucking way here!" She glared at him as if her eyes were powerful enough to make him burst into flames. His eyes filled with fear and he quickly glanced over to me before he started speaking.

"Uh..Debby im s-sorry its just-"

"I don't want your excuses Josh! You always give me excuses. What are you hiding from me?" Her demeanor changed from angry to sad and i saw tears fill in her eyes.

"Just sometimes i think you don't love me anymore" she spoke under her breath. Josh came out from the bar and walked over to her. He tried to hug her but she took a step back from him. He sighed and spoke:

"Debby im sorry that you think i don't love you anymore. I had to come to work early today to clean up before my shift. Im sorry for not telling you." She rolled her eyes and started walking towards the door.

"Whatever" she started. "Just go and fuck your boyfriend right there. Josh, i see how you look at him. Don't play that game with me." She gave him the finger before finally exiting the shop. I looked back to Josh who was in utter shock.

I bit my lip to try and hide my smile. I wonder if she really meant what she said.
'I see the way you look at him.' Maybe she was just saying it because she was mad. But maybe she was speaking the truth.

After awhile of Josh just staring at the door i finally spoke up:

"Well J, i'd like my usual."
