Wednesday Evening

Tyler

I felt Josh's breathing quicken under my mothers deathly stare. I wrapped my arms around him and held onto him tightly trying to calm him down. His whole body shook in my arms. My mother waited expectantly for an answer, looking as if any second she might explode. Finally she snapped and started walking towards me. I leaned back from her with a vibrating Josh still in my arms. She stopped and glared at me, her anger making her seem incandescent.

"Come on Tyler, get up." Her words were so articulated and crisp i could feel the sharpness of them driving into my skin. She pointed her finger in my face and shook it before speaking.

"You need to go practice and I-" she pointed into Josh's face and gave him the same nasty scowl "-need to tell your father about whats going on here." Suddenly I didn't feel Josh's body shaking mine anymore. I looked down in my arms to see his head bent forward.

"J-josh?"I shook him slightly and my mother stepped back to analyze whats going on. Josh's head tipped back onto my shoulder and i saw his eyes were closed. His mouth parted letting out breaths that were decreasing in speed.

"Oh my god... Josh?" I shook him more, being just as ineffective as last time.

"Is that boy okay?" My mom asked looking from me to Josh, not actually sounding like she cared. I ignored her question and immediately scooped Josh up into my arms, got off the floor, and walked towards the shop's door. My mom walked in between me and the door and eyeballed Josh before looking at me.

"Where are you going?" I stared back as my mom with a face that said 'are you serious.'

"I can't just leave him here, mom! I don't know if you noticed but he is passed out, out cold, unconscious!" My chest filled with anger and I continued to stare at her. My arms started to get sore from holding josh all this time but I wasn't going to let him go.

"Why do you care so much? We hate the duns, Tyler. Have we taught you nothing? We have raised you on a sturdy foundation of love, care, support for the things you love, and hatred towards the people who deserve it. Stick to your roots Tyler. The Duns are bad people." I pushed past her with my should while responding to her:

"Well maybe you hate the duns, but I don't. And i am so fucking in love with Joshua Dun. I love him. "

I pushed through the door, unable to withstand anymore garbage that tumbles out of her mouth. I walked across the street with a very dense Josh. Im not calling him fat, he is basically the opposite of fat. But big beautiful drummer muscles are heavy and I have very lean muscles.

I pushed through the duns shops doors and collapsed to my knees unable to support Josh anymore. His mom and dad luckily were on their shift and came over to us. A few of there customers were frightened by the passed out dun in my lap and quickly shuffled out of the parlor. Josh's parents didn't even care about their loss of customers as there full attention was on their son. Mr. Dun finally spoke up as he was taking Josh from my arms:

"We need to get him home and in bed. This is the second time he has passed out today." Mr. Dun stood up and started walking out to his car with a worried wife following after him.

"Laura, stay at the shop ill take Josh home. You, Joseph, you are going to come with me in the car and explain everything that happened." I nodded at the mans orders and followed him out to his car. He put josh in the back seat and i crawled back there with him. Mr. Dun started up the car and drove away from the shop. He stared at me through his rearview mirror while speaking:

"Im sure you are aware that Josh past out in the hall way today at school around lunch." My throat tightened as I didn't know. I was the cause of that. He completely lost it when he saw Brendon and me. I held back tears As i nodded at Mr. Dun, so I don't go through the explanation for why I don't know.
