Mitch's POV
I decide to take a bath, just because I can. I haven't taken one in years. If you count bathing in the lake that is.
I add a lot of foam because it's fun playing with it. Draping it over my knees, arms and chin. I'm like santa now.
The door opens and Scott walks in. What? Why would he walk in?
He doesn't see me though and just continues doing whatever the hell he's doing.
"Uhm... Scott?" He jumps up 5 feet in the air, obviously startled by my voice. I quickly check if my privates are covered by the foam.
"MITCH!" He yells, a hand on his heart. He's leaning onto the counter, breathing kind off heavily. Did I scare him that much? It's only me. Maybe it's because I'm naked. He might be afraid of naked people now.
"I didn't see you there." He says, when he has calmed down.
"I figured." I say dryly. I thought it was obvious.
"I'm.." His eyes shift to my lower part. I double check to see if my privates are covered. "Gon-gonna go." He stumbles over his words, his face suddenly very red. He awkwardly clears his throat and walks out of the bathroom.
I just lay in the bath for a while, doing nothing. When I lived in the forest I could never rest. You always had to be careful and ready for an attack. And I was always looking for food.
After about 20 minutes I decide to go out of the bath. I towel dry my body and hair and step in some clean clothes.
Downstairs, Scott is talking with Kevin but they stop when I enter the room. Guess what they were talking about.
"Mitch!" Scott walks over to me, putting his arms around my waist, hugging me. I wrap my arms around his neck and stuff my face in his strong chest.
"Hmmhmm." I hear someone clearing their throat, probably Kevin.
I unwind my arms from Scott's neck but Scott just pulls me closer, "Oh shut up, Kev. You remember that time I walked in on you and Alyssa going at it? You were so into it." He snickers. "Haha, into it." If I wasn't so shocked I would laugh. They talk about this so freely. "You didn't even notice I was there! I almost had to shout your name for you to notice me! Because Alyssa was already shouting your name too!" Scott is full on laughing now, but Kevin seems mortified. I feel sorry for the guy.
"Seriously Scott? I thought you were over that?" Kevin scoffs.
"How can I get over that? I am scarred for life!" He exclaims.
"Yeah.." The atmosphere in the room drops 20 degrees.
I quickly go back to hugging Scott, as tight as I can.
"Guys, I didn't tell any of you to be pitied. I just told you so you could understand. Both of you. I don't want pity, just understanding." Scott sighs.
"I'm hungry." I say to change the topic.
"Oh yeah, about that. My sister Laurie comes tonight and we're going out to dinner. She is dying to meet you." Scott says to me. Sister? He looks down at my lips and pecks them. My lips tingle where his lips made contact with mine.
"You have a sister?" He never told me about a sister.
"Yeah, she lives with her mate in a pack a few states away. I don't see her much, but she wants to meet you." Amazing, more family members who probably won't like me because of my background. Great.
"Why didn't you tell me about her?" I look at the clock, it's already 5:00 p.m.
"She never came up. You asked me about my parents, and I told you about them. You didn't ask me about her. If you wanted to know you should have asked." Scott says defensive. It's not like I blamed him or something.
"Okay." I say, while stepping away from him.
He grabs my hand, "sorry, Mitchie. I'm just a little bit on edge."
I smile at him, "it's okay, I understand." I intertwine our fingers, looking down at them.
"I think I need to prepare you for Laurie. She is very protective of me since... you know. She's probably going to interrogate you. Just so you know." Scott says apologetically to me. "I'll protect you." Putting his arm around my shoulder.
"Where are we going to eat?" I ask, looking up at him.
"There is this diner situated in the little town close by. A pack member owns it, it's really good." Scott looks proud when he says this. I really think Scott is a good alpha. I haven't seen much of him as an alpha, but I can see how he is with his pack. He is nice and informal but people still have respect for him. That is an impressive achievement.
"Let's go." We walk together, hand in hand, to his car. It is so fancy and modern.
The drive takes about 30 minutes until we arrive at the little town.
Scott turns on the car radio during the drive. I don't know any of the songs but I like listening to Scott sing. Eventually a song comes on and Scott starts cheering before turning up the volume. I immediately recognise the voice of my queen. The song is absolutely beautiful. It's called halo. I'm definitely looking up this one at home.
"Your voice is so good." I say to Scott when the song has ended.
He smiles brightly at me. "I still want to hear you sing too. I have a feeling you have a really beautiful voice."
I blush and look down at my lap. "I really don't. But it's okay, I want to listen to you some more."
"We're here." Scott announces. He parks the car in front of a cute building.
We step out of the car and walk hand in hand to the entrance of the building. I can feel my heart beating in my chest. I'm nervous. I know it's only Scott's sister and she doesn't even live close but this is kind off a big deal for me. I was very close to my brother.
"Laurie!" Scott yells at a tall blond haired woman. She turns around and runs to Scott, hugging him very tightly. Scott lets go of my hand to hug her back. I just stand there awkwardly while they are hugging.
After what seems like hours they finally break apart. Laurie turns to me, giving me a once over, "so you must be Mitch."
