School was already hard as it was. I didn't need to add in everyone avoiding me because of Luke...

I sat in the middle of my class next to a girl that I had become acquainted with. I smiled and waved at her. "Hey Maddie. " Maddie was messing with the strands of her blackish brown hair, not answering me.

"Hey are you alright?" I tried again to make conversation with the girl next to me. I then remembered Luke's threat. I sighed. "Is it because of Luke?" Maddie pulled on her sleeves and nodded.

"Sorry..." She muttered before getting up and moving to another seat. I gasped. I groaned and put my head down on the desk.

An object was tossed on the desk that Maddie was sitting at. A different girl sat down next to me. She had shoulder length brown hair and dark skin. Why is she sitting next to me. "Hi. " She greeted. "I'm Stella Hoult. " She held her hand out.

"Briar. " I smiled. "Briar Henderson. " I shook her hand. "Are you new?" I asked her. She nodded.

"Yup. " Stella got out her stuff. "Just moved here from America. Still pretty jetlagged. The flight was 16 hours long and the time difference is killer. "She slapped her notebook on the desk.

"Um. Cool. " I didn't know how else to reply to that.

"What else do we need for this class?" Stella asked.

"Just a pen or a pencil." I picked up my pen that was on my desk. "We did have homework, " Stella's eyes were wide open. "but since you weren't here the teacher won't be hard on you. "

Stella fist pumped the air. "Yes! "I looked at her strangely. "Sorry. I just really despise homework. "

"Well unfortunately, this teacher gives out a lot of homework assignments. " My face became really serious and Stella groaned. I laughed. "No I'm just kidding. " The teacher went to the front and began writing stuff on the board. "The truth is, she doesn't really teach anything. Just copy what she writes on the board and you'll get high marks. "

Stella grinned. "Thanks!" We both began to translate the notes from the board to our notebooks. Stella and I finished pretty quickly and continued talking.

School wasn't all that bad after I met Stella. Talia still avoids me inside of school and we haven't really talked much since Luke gave the two of us a ride home after school.

"SUPER LACE-EHHHHHHHHHHH!" A shrill voice was heard from the stairs. Oh god. I ran to the living room just in time to catch my "super" sister who thinks she can fly. I swear she has ADD.

"Whoa be careful Lace. " I gently put her down on the couch."What if I wasn't there to catch you?" Lacey got up and adjusted her blanket cape.

"I would've been fine Briar." She giggled. So I'm stuck babysitting my hyperactive sister on a Friday night. Fuck my life. Just kidding Lacey's not that bad. And I have no social life so it's perfectly fine.

"Yeah yeah. " The doorbell rang.

"Doorbell!" Lacey quoted from one of her favourite characters from Sam & Cat, Cat Valentine.

"I got it!" I waltzed over to the door and asked, "Who is it?"The person rang the doorbell again. "Who is it?" I repeated. They rang again. I groaned and glanced through the peephole. You wouldn't believe who was there.

Luke.

"What do you want Hemmings?" I hissed at him. "Why are you here?"

"Your dad invited me. " His smirk was devious and sly. Up to no good. "Well actually I volunteered." I scowled at him. "He didn't trust you alone with little Tracey. "

"It's Lacey. "

"Same thing. " He defended weakly before nudging me out of the way to get through. Who's house is this away? Oh yeah it's MINE. "Hi Lacey. "

Lacey had to move her head all the way up to look at Luke. "Hi..." She murmured. "She pulled on my dress to get my attention. I looked at her. "Is he your boyfriend?"

Luke burst out laughing. My face went red and I shook my head no as Luke responded with, "Yes. "

"No. " I countered. "No Lace. We aren't dating. "

Lacey furrowed her eyebrows. "But he just said you guys were. "Luke chuckled. I glared at Luke for telling my sister that in the first place.

"He's just our neighbour. " I explained. "He lives next door to us Lacey. And daddy thought he could help me watch you."

"So he's not your boyfriend?" Lacey still didn't get it. I shook my head. "Ohhhh. " Lacey skipped off to the kitchen to get a snack. She came back with a package of fruit snacks then turned on the TV and flopped on the couch.

So this chapter will have two parts because I wanted it to make sense. And I have no idea what to name it so its called Part One. I hope you like it. Part Two will be up soon. Sorry if the chapters are short. I update often so I hope that makes up for it. :)

Oh and Stella's gonna be an important character so that's why I introduced her in this chapter. Everything in this story happens for a reason.
