Briar sat in her room and stared at the wall. Pathetically sad music blasted in her ears, droning out the voices of others. After a while, her family stopped trying.

It's been a month since Luke found out about the scheme to break his metaphorical heart, and Briar hadn't the nerve to speak to him since.

A monotonous schedule of going to school with her head down and then running to her room occupied the month.

She would pathetically cover her ghostlike face with her long strands of hair, akin to vanilla malt in color. Instead of hurrying to class, she hung back until the halls were desolate.

Instead of sitting in the front of the class with Stella, the blonde found herself alone in the back. She watched Stella be happy with Michael with envy in her dark blue eyes.

She was jealous because she wanted to be happy like that. She wished that she could still be with Luke. Who would forgive someone after that?

But you didn't cheat on him, Briar reminded herself of the fact Luke wasn't perfect. Deep down she knew he wasn't, but all she could think about was how much of an idiot she is.

Her mind blamed Stella. Why wasn't Michael mad at her? He probably had no clue of his girlfriend-no friend-whatever's huge involvement in everything.

How did I end up in the same place I was a year ago, broken?

She tried to drown her mind with the melodies of solemn love ballads took over her hearing. Her eyes grew heavier and heavier until she let them close shut.

Lacey tugged on Briar's arm in an attempt to wake her sister from her one hour of slumber. Navy blue eyes scanned the younger girl when Briar sat straight up.

Her two arms behind her back held her up as she glanced at Lacey crossly. "What do you want?" Briar inquired impatiently.

"Someone's at the door!" Lacey sing-songed cheerfully. She tugged Briar up to her feet. The strength of the little one surprised the elder completely, taking her off guard.

Briar looked down on Lacey with an annoyed expression. "I'm not in the mood for-"

"You'll like this visitor!" She chirped eagerly with a childish squeal to finish it off.

Lacey's chocolate brown eyes widened when she glanced up at her older sister. Whenever she did that she looked like the most innocent thing in the entire world, and Briar couldn't decide whether that is a good thing or a bad thing.

"I doubt it. " Briar murmured, being dragged out of her room and down the stairs.

The person who came to see Briar had made themselves comfortable at the breakfast bar, sipping from the water bottle Lacey had provided them with. They turned their swivel chair to see Briar.

Briar's eyes dilated at the sight of her best friend.

"Stella?"

Ok so my cousin (miraclejoi0208) wanted to know how Briar and Stella became friends again, and also how Briar and Luke got back together.

So I decided to make extra (bonus) chapters to explain it all!

I don't know how many I'll need but we'll see

(To miracle, sorry I couldn't put it all in one :( it's 5 am and I'm sleepy)
