It did not failed to surprise me how civil Briar was acting towards Talia. I was honestly expecting the claws would come out and Bry would rip Talia's face off.

But no. They talked like old friends. Oh wait they are. Initially, Talia obviously had reservations about staying at Casa de Henderson for the night. After I broke the ice with the sex question, she warmed up a bit.

My mouth bit down on a salted chip and made a crunching sound. It was weird just sitting there, watching them to back and forth, but hey it's for the plan. As long as we find out more information about Luke then everything is alright.

"Briar, how was your first kiss with Luke? Was it weird?" Talia directed some questions at Briar only. That doesn't mean I won't be listening. I was interested in knowing the answer.

"Hmm?" She wasn't expecting to be put on the spot like that so Talia had to repeat it. "W-W-Why you ask?"

"Just wanted to know. " Talia shrugged her shoulders. I glanced her way, eying her strangely. "What? So you can ask me questions but I can't do the same? It's not as bad as asking about sex. "

BRIAR.

"Well um..."

Want me to say our first kiss was magical? That I knew he was the one? Want me to lie? It wasn't exactly magical, but to tell the truth, he wasn't that bad of a kisser. He's not bad at all...

Ok so it was Saturday night and I was home alone. Dad at work. Lacey with Aunty Laverne at her house. Me sitting on the couch watching horror movies by myself. I was enjoying hearing nothing but the ominous music playing from the television's audio speakers and the soft rain falling down outside my window. I encased my body in a large comforter blanket because the heat wasn't working downstairs and I was rather chilled.

I remembered hearing a knock at the door and it being the one person I was hoping it wasn't. I groaned as I fully opened the door, the blanket wrapped around my neck like a cape. "What could you possibly want?"

He took in my appearance, bitting down softly on his lip. "Nice cape. " He chuckled poking fun at my peculiar way of keeping my blanket near. "Can I come in?"

"You did not answer my question. " My voice was steady and firm. "What could you possibly want at this hour?" I repeated myself in an annoyed tone, letting him inside the house. At this particular time, my one true desire was to continue watching the slasher movie I was in the middle of.

Luke's response shocked me. "I wanted to check to see if you were okay. " His head turned towards the window and watched as the rain drops cascaded down the glass. "It's about to start storming outside and I wanted to make sure you weren't in here balled up in a corner, shaking and crying."

"Why would you think I will be shaking and crying? " I crossed my arms.

"Are you kidding me?" He faced me. "You get startled by the sound of the wind howling outside. I bet you are terrified by the sound of thunder pounding outside. Going thump. thump. thump. " Luke mimicked the sound of thunder, a tactic he most likely used to try and frighten me.

"Stop or else you'll be put outside. " I waltzed back over to the lounge and plopped down. "You can stay if you want, but nothing is keeping you from walking out that door and going back to wherever you came from. "

Luke came into my living room and sat down next to me. "What if I want to stay here?"

I shrugged. "That's up to you. " My hand grasped the remote control and pushed the play button. "I'll be watching horror movies so if you don't like that then oh well. " I shifted slightly in my spot as a kissing scene came on.

"Are you alright?" Luke noticed my uneasiness.

"I'm fine. " I skipped the scene. "I just hate it when horror movies just have to incorporate romance mush into their films. It's very moronic. " I scoffed in disgust.

"I'm sure that's why you skipped."

"What are you going on about?"

"You feel awkward watching kissing scenes. " Luke stated the obvious.

"Oh really?" I was being very sarcastic. Of course watching a kissing scene with Luke was awkward. Why wouldn't it be awkward?

"Why does it have to be awkward?" Luke pushed the pause button on the remote.

"What do you mean why?"

"It's not like you haven't kissed anybody or anything. " He unpaused the movie and turned to look at the Television screen.

I bit my lip and began examining the living room, picking out ever detail of its interior design. I noticed every imperfection in the painting of the walls. It was supposed to be Beige all over, but there were hidden small specks of white in the most random places.

Luke's words snapped me out of my thoughts. "Wait, have you ever been kissed?" The question made my entire frame become rigid and stiff.

"Yeah. " I muttered untruthfully. My nose twitched. "Tons and tons of times have I been kissed. " I looked down at the ground.

"Lies. " He grabbed my controller again and paused the movie.

"How can you tell?"

"Everyone has a tell when they are lying. Some people don't look people in the eye, or something on their face twitches. It just so happens you do both of those things, and that is your tell, Briar. " He smirked. "But why?"

"What do you mean by why?"

"Why haven't you kissed someone before? You know I've kissed someone, and more. My first kiss was when I was 11 or something. "

"Because I don't have the time and my father is always watching me and I just don't think that it is necessary for me to have to-"

Luke leaned in and kissed me on the lips.
