BRIAR.
My gown was itchy.
It wasn't just any other day. It was graduation. I'm extremely nervous.
• I'm leaving high school
• I might not see these people when we leave this building
• What if I fall on stage? That would be pretty embarrassing.
My palms are really sweaty.
These are my final moments as a high school student.
It was hard to focus on everyone, so I just focused on the people who I knew. When they got to the C's, I learned Michael's last name was Clifford.
How was he doing? Pretty well actually. He's graduating with A's and B's and leaving with a valedictorian for a girlfriend. He was so proud of himself when he got up to take his diploma and shake the
When they got to the H's, I nearly shat myself. Good thing there are a lot of H names before me. 5 Hamilton's, 3 Hare's and an assortment of other names.
"Luke Hemmings. "Luke, came before me. I'm pretty sure that everyone was surprised he was graduating, he always gave off the impression he did not care. The truth was, he was actually an amazing student. Graduating with All A's. Incredible right? Him and the principal exchanged glances and Luke just took his diploma, nodding his head in acknowledgement.
I've learned a lot about him that I didn't know a year ago. He had a younger sister (and another one on the way yes it's a girl), he wasn't as put together as I made him out to be, and the most important thing was: he wasn't exactly a heartless jackass. It took a month, but eventually he took me back after we agreed that now we were even. From now on, I couldn't blame him for breaking my heart, because I did the exact same to him.
He gracefully stepped off the stage and made his way to back to his seat. They called my name and I popped up, strolling over to the stage. I accepted my diploma and shook my principal's sweaty hand. You know that thing where they switch your tassel from one side to another? They did that.
I'm surprised I did not fall on my face. There were two names before it was Calum's turn. Luke squeezed my hand when Cal went up. Now Calum Hood, did better than anyone expected. He passed his classes with at least the average. Also, he even got himself a stable girlfriend that will be going to the same college as him. I think her name is Leila. She's a sweetheart and a brunette with green eyes. Calum was crazy about her, and she was crazy about him. They're so cute together. He tried to greet the principal with an alternative handshake, but was rejected.
Next up was Stella. Me and her rekindled our friendship. She was a genuine person and we had that bond that could potentially last a lifetime. Sure it wasn't easy and really awkward at first, but now we are good and stable. She walked up to the stage, clumsily tripping over her feet before getting back up and hurrying her way through. Stella shook the principal's hand quickly and took her diploma, getting off of the stage soon after. Calum laughed at her quietly and received a glare from her.
The rest of the people, I didn't quite care to mention, Im pretty sure Talia made it by the skin of her teeth, passing with D's. I wish that I was able to say that we stayed friends, but I don't want to lie. There's no way in hell I would remain friends with someone like her after how low she went. She also made it clear that she would always harbour feelings for Luke, causing an indefinite rift in our relationship. Despite this, she has a boyfriend. He's apparently some college guy. ( whose "way better than plain old Luke" she claims. )
