After the Jason incident, I decided to invite my friends around for some girl talk before my date with Dylan. I still couldn't believe that through all the girls in school he chose me.
I'm not the type of girl that one of the most popular guys in school goes for. I'm not attractive, neither sexy, I'm just some boring chick that loves to spend her days reading or hanging out with the few friends she has. As you can se, I'm not popular either, I've always been an introverted person. I find it hard to open up and I've got trust issues, even if me going out with a stranger tonight doesn't seem coherent. So yeah, I've always been a "loser" in high school and having a date with Dylan was pretty shocking for me, but as they say, opposites attract, right?
The door bell rung, signing the arrival of my friends. I rush downstairs to greet them and, when I open the front door, I already found all of them on my doorstep.
"We've brought cupcakes!" Chanel said excited with a box of cakes in her hands.
"Oh you know me so well! Come in" I indicated.
"Let's go to my room, mum will be home in a minute and we don't want her invading our privacy" I chuckled.
After climbing up the stairs, we arrived to my bedroom. India and me took the bed, Emily sat on my working desk, while Chanel positioned herself on the bean bag that was on the floor.
"So, are you ready for tonight?" Emily was the first to break the silence.
"Not really" I shrugged, getting up from my bed to go get myself a cupcake.
"What do you mean not really?" Chanel asked curious.
"I don't know.. It's just strange.. I don't even know the guy for God's sake! I only met him on Friday and now he's asking me out. Isn't it freaky?" I said, tasting the delicious cake the girls bought.
"Well.. in my opinion, it is a little creepy.. I mean, you're right, he doesn't even know you..but I don't know, love at first sight maybe?" Emily asked uncertain.
"You know what? I don't trust him. He's been playing girls since he has hit puberty and whatever he's up too, I really don't like it." Chanel added defensively.
"Why would you think he's playing me? He's always been kind and he looks like a good guy...he's probably been a player in the past, but he could have changed, or they're just rumours, who knows?" I tried to convince Chanel.
"Seriously? Not to break this to you Soph, you know I love you and you're the best to me, but have you took a look at us? Would you seriously think that I guy like him would fall in love with someone like us? Some losers" Chanel said kinda sad.
"hey talk for yourself!" Emily said to Chanel.
"Oh yeah, I forgot you were dating Mr.Popular" Chanel joked, referring to Anthony.
"You're dating a royal!!" Emily accused.
"Na uh! Business, no dating" Chanel pointing out.
"Jezz thanks for the self-esteem girls" I muttered.
"Anyway don't sweat it! You'll find out soon or later if he's being an asshole or not! Life's about taking risks right?" Emily tried to cheer me up.
"Yeah I guess you're right", "Hey, India are you there? You haven't said anything since you got here" I said.
India wasn't the type to stay quiet, actually sometimes she talked too much, so it was odd she was like this.
"Spill the beans sister!" Chanel said.
"Its William" Emily joined in.
"How did you know?" India spoke for the first time.
"You're like an open book to me" Emily winked at her.
