Eighteen years later

"To all of those that have believed in me, even when there wasn't a reason to."

"To who was able to see goodness in the dark days and in any situation, and to who taught me how to live."

"To my friends."

"To Chanel, who without I would've been in a street counting some random rocks."

"To my mother, who put up with me for years and years, with the hope that I could finally find myself when I didn't know how to love."

"To my brother, who for many reasons still today I can't describe, because that type of love is impossible to put on paper."

"To Adeline."

"To New York, that made me grow in many ways."

"To Chris and the artist street, that will always have a special place in my heart'."

"To all those that instead have brought only suffering. To my father. To Suzanne and Joe. To who hasn't done any good to me, but at the same time has made me stronger."

"To the love of my life, for having me always with him, no matter what. I wanted to say that I love him and that I always will."

"And last, but not least, to all those that will come after and will take place in my journey."

"Once my art teacher said that I had to paint a picture with all the things that life reserves for me. I think that I will. So this book is even for you Rose."

I put down the book on the cabinet next to my bed. I have never been awake all night to read a book since now, but this is another story.

The cover is black and red. Dark.

"To you" is the the title. I like.

I smile thinking about the beautiful love story I had just read.

I took my bed covers off. My room is big and colorful. On the walls there are many photos of me and my brother.

"WAKE UP SLEEPING BEAUTY!" My dearest brother walked in.

"What do you think I'm doing you jerk?" I barked back.

"You still aren't ready!!!"

"Ready for what?" I asked confused as I looked at myself in the mirror.

"Adeline it's freaking New Year's Eve!!"

"Holy shit!! I totally forgot!"

"You're such an idiot", he exclaimed, "grandma Rose is coming over, uncles and auntie, cousins! Move! Our mother has been reminding us about this since forever!"

"Damn it, damn it!" I started to curse as I made my way to the bathroom.

After I washed, I put on a pair of jeans and a white sweater that my mother likes. I tied my long brown hair in a ponytail and decided to head downstairs.

"Good morning princess!" My father said. I brought my hands around his neck and he gave me a quick kiss on my forehead.

My mother was moving like a madwoman in the kitchen making sure that everything was ready. Her belly got bigger everyday and was terrified, but at the same time happy for the arrival of another brother, John.

"Adeline please go and call your brother Sebastian, everyone's going to be here in a minute!" My mother asked.

She looked very happy to see all of her friends again.
