I would've really liked to kiss him, but I couldn't, it wasn't the moment.I positioned myself on my previous seat, while Jason had his head in his hands for a few minutes. The silence in the car was unbereable.
After a while we finally arrived in front of our houses. He got out of his pick up and he indicated me to follow him in. I wasn't expecting that, I thought that he wanted to be alone after everything that happened.
I followed him inside. He didn't know what to do, he looked lost. He stared at me, but he was far away as he tried to take his shoes off and then a smile spread across my face.
"Seriously Miller? Black Converse under a suit?" We both laughed and I was happy that I was the reason of that curve on his lips.
He decided to come closer and entwined our fingers directing me towards his bedroom. He sat on the edge of the bed while I on the floor in front of him.
"Before I transferred here, I was a mess" he spoke, caressing my cheek.
"Once I even sold drugs, I even helped some friends exploding a car. I've been found dancing in a strip club, because I didn't want to go home. I don't know why I used to act like that, I didn't care about anything. As you can see, you don't know a lot about me either. But I'm more than the guy I used to be, I'm more when I'm with you."
" I know, but tell me all about you, I want to know everything"
"I don't know where to start" he confessed as he passed a hand through his hair.
"From the beggining.."
I didn't know why I was so comprehensive with him, I was always ready to be there and listen.
He smiled and then decided to talk.
"When my mother died, my father was never at home. I started hanging out with the wrong kids hoping that I would've caught his attention, but he got angry and that was it, he didn't even ask why I used to do such things."
I got up from the floor and sat next to him, encouraging to continue.
"Then the story of "hit and ditch" with girls started when I found out that I was adopted. Sex was a perfect distraction basically. But I have never treated a girl well, not even one. Some I used to hurt, or not even look in the face." He sighed and closed his eyes. He looked in pain.
"Adam and I used to help with the dealing sometimes, but we don't want anything to do with that shit anymore. He has had a tough life too. But now you're here.." Jason finally lifted his gaze to look at me and he seemed preoccupied of what I could've said, but I wasn't going to judge him.
"And with you're irritating ways you captured me, you know? It wasn't planned that I felt like this with you, but it happened"
"Sophie you should never doubt that I could hurt you, I try containing my anger, I swear, but I can't assure you anything, I'm a mess and I understand if you don't want to continue..." I didn't let him finish, because I put a hand on his mouth.
He was talking too much and it was nothing like him.
"Stop blubbering and listen to me" he chuckled to then nod.
"I undesrtand, I understand what you've been through and who you are. And I think that you shouldn't blame yourself for everything that has happened Jason. I've got to know you, not completely, but I have. But we've already said that things between us won't be easy and we'll have to work on it, so it's fine by me. And for today? I'm very proud of you. What you did was right"
"I'm scared that I will return that way again" he said softly before leaning his head on my shoulder.
"I'll help you" I whispered.
