It All Started With A Dare

Chapter 8.

"Mum where are you going with that suitcase?" I immediately asked my as I got through the front door entrance.

The feeling of somebody else leaving my life like that, terrified me.

It was currently 4.30pm on a Friday and I had just got home from school to find a smiling mum, finishing packing her suitcase to go God knows where.

"Oh, hi sweetie! I didn't see you walk in", "Yesterday I forgot to tell you that in an hour I've got a flight directed to Africa. I volunteered to help  those poor children with medicals treatments, it's only three days, I'll be back on Monday!"

"Oh" I simply said surprised.

"Sooo is everyone ready??" I heard someone burst in.

"Didn't I warn you about never putting foot in this house again?" I said pissed off, after I quickly walked out of the kitchen to go and see who it was.

"Rude much?" He scoffed.

"Honey is this how you thank someone that will be taking care of you?" My mum interrupted.

"Ehm excuse me? I think I misunderstood"

"Yes honey, Jason will be taking care of you and your brother while I'm out of town, he was the one that offered. You're going to stay at his house for a couples of days... you should be thankful"

"So YOU where the one that organized all this? And why  the hell didn't  I have a word in this?" I said pointing in Jason's direction.

"Pretty much" he said smiling like an idiot.

"You are so dead Miller" I whispered under my breath so that only him could've heard.

"I would love to hang out with you guys, but my taxi is already waiting outside for me", "and sweetie please don't be rude, he ain't that bad under all that attitude he wears, just give him a chance" my mum whispered in my ear as she hugged me, "and for you, little devil, be good, mummy will miss you lots" she added passing to Alex.

"Mum wait!" I stopped her as she was about to open the door, "are you coming back?"

"Sophie, I would never leave you" she simply said, before blowing me a kiss and walking out.

"So folks, let's get this party started!!" Jason exclaimed causing me to roll my eyes.

"Do you live alone?" I asked while I made my way in his house with Alex by my side.

"All by myself " he replied turning the lights of the living room on, "C'mon I'll show you your rooms " he then added pointing at the staircase that headed upstairs.

"Alex you'll be sleeping in here, obviously if you ain't scared of being alone" he told Alex showing him the room that he'll be staying in.

"I'm brave!! Thank you JayJay!!" He exclaimed before closing himself in his new cave.

"JayJay huh?" I mocked.

"Shut up!" He replied moving to the next door. "This will be yours, but you know.. mine is always available" he added smirking at me.

"I wouldn't sleep with you even if you were the last guy on this Earth" I retorted.

"Oh I won't be so sure about that baby doll"

"Could you please stop calling me baby doll? It's quite annoying"

"What fun would there be in not annoying you?" He winked back.

"So, what are we having for dinner? Because I'm starving!!" I asked changing the subject.

"I was thinking about pizza? But I don't know if you like that kind of food.." he questioned unsure.
