-The year 1982-
Baekhyun stared at the beautiful blue sky as he couldn't help but stretch his arms out. He stood up and ran across the amazing green fields, feeling the touch of each grass linger past his legs.
He was happy. Nothing could tear him away from the happiness he felt...
Except....waking up though...
It was just another one his impossible dreams. Sometimes his dreams were so real that he'd lose himself in them. And there were times he'd even wish he wouldn't wake up.
He opened his eyes, the lights were out. He lied there frozen solid, he was very scared too.
A little bit of light shined on the clock, it was 12 AM. His heart started to beat heavily as he heard loud footsteps coming from outside.
They were coming closer and closer until the front door was opened. A low, lazy and gurgling voice could be heard, rambling nonsense. It was his father, who was obviously drunk again.
He loved his dear father but would cower in fear whenever he was drunk. He hid under his blankets, hoping he'd leave him alone. His mother was in the city, accompanying her sickly mother at the hospital. The village didn't have any hospitals, clinics nor doctors. So once you got sick, all you could do was just lie in your bed and wait for your fate.
"Where's that s..stupid b-boy?!" His father yelled as he dragged his legs across the hall.
Baekhyun closed his eyes shut and began to tremble. He covered his ears with his skinny hands as tears rolled down his cheeks.
His father searched each room until he found HIS room.
The night was filled with Baekhyun's screams and cries as he was being hit...
It was finally daybreak, the sun had risen up from its slumber. Its rays of light hit a certain man's face, which caused him to instantly wake up.
He rubbed his head and felt hungover due to all the drinks he had last night. His knuckles felt sore as he carefully stood up from the floor.
He suddenly knew what had happened and immediately went in his son's room to check on him. He opened the door lightly, peeked through and was heartbroken to have seen his son's face covered in bruises. He was asleep, but his facial expression didn't seem relaxed at all.
He did it again. He had hurt him.
He stepped inside the room and approached his sleeping son. He bent down and kissed his forehead and whispered,
"You know I love you. I'm just bad at showing it."
He stood up and went out of the room, closing the door gently. He sighed heavily as he looked at the ceiling, knowing his son would never be happy with him around.
"I'm trying my best..."
