"Rosa! Run!" Vince yelled as I saw a Strigoi coming at me out of the corner of my eye.
I quickly kicked the Strigoi against the wall, causing a large, body shaped hole that didn't go all the way through. I walked up to it, pinned it against the wall by the neck, and slowly created little slashes with the stake just to torture him before I actually killed it. More came after me, with similar fates, all while my ex-husband stood dumbfounded and turned on.
"Nice job with the makeup, might I add." I said, walking toward my ex.
"It's not makeup." He said, in a fake, cold voice.
"Nice try. Your voice gave it away." I said, "Melanie, hand me a tissue"
I wiped the makeup off of his face, and he just stood there surprised that I found out.
"You can take out the contacts, too. You've already been proven fake. You don't need the red ring anymore. And hand over my kids and husband." Melanie said.
"You're a dumbass." I said as I untied my kids.
"I got your attention, though, didn't I?" he said.
"Oh, you got my attention alright. Your little plan failed miserably. Nice try. You really need to move the fuck on. I don't want anything to do with you anymore. I've found who I'm meant to be with for the rest of my life and he's not you. Get over it. If your lucky, I might decide to be your friend but that's a long shot. You made a huge mistake. Let me guess from the way your life appears to be. She took everything from you and left you just like you left me. You live here don't you? You look rather comfortable in this building, like you're here all the time. The Strigoi took you in and you somehow managed to fool them into thinking you were one of them and you moved up in their ranks."
"That's pretty much it. You're just like Roger Chillingworth in the Scarlet Letter. You manage to look into people's soul and find out their secrets." Dave said.
"I wouldn't put it that far. I read that book, he's fairly, um, different." I said.
"I can see why he thinks that though, Rosa." Melanie said.
"Yeah, me too. Roger kinda appeared almost evil to me, though with the way he played cat and mouse with Arthur Dimmesdale."
"That's true." Vince said.
"You're right though. She took everything I had and left me. I have nothing. I have no friends, my kids hate me, I have no where to live. All I have is my job." My ex said.
"That's your own damn fault and I refuse to sympathize with you. You had a choice and you chose. Looks like now you're finally realizing your mistake. Thanks for the memories, whether or not I cherish them. Now, we've gotta go." I said, walking out of the room with everyone, leaving him behind.
