Intruder

As they walked into the crisp morning air, Naruto ran ahead and Sakura began trying to get the attention of Sasuke. Akako stayed in the back, looking down at her feet.

She felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up to see Kakashi. He smiled with his eye and brought his hand down to hold hers. She smiled.

As they reached the edge of the forest, Akako expected Kakashi to let go of her hand, but he didn't. He stood infront of Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura with Akako to his side. "This way," He said, pointing to their right.

They all began walking that way, Akako could feel Sasuke's eyes burning into her back. She suddenly became of conscious of how it might look, her holding hands with Kakashi.

"Hey hold it right there!" Naruto yelled, pulling Akako out of her thoughts. She took this as an opportunity and got her hand out of Kakashi's to run towards Naruto.

"He went that way!" He said pointing ahead of them.

"Who?" Kakashi and Sasuke said in unison, catching up.

"An intruder." Naruto smirked as he chased him. They all ran that way until they caught up with Naruto fighting with him.

Sakura, Sasuke, Kakashi, and Akako hid in the bushes. Sakura the farthest to the right, with Sasuke to her left and then Akako and to the farthest left was Kakashi.

"Get out of here before you get yourself hurt!" The man yelled at Naruto. "Your a sad excuse of a ninja!"

Naruto threw his shuriken at the man's legs, which he dodged. Naruto began forming the seals for Shadow Replication when Akako felt a hand close around her fist. She looked to her left, it was Kakashi.

She looked down at her hands that were balled into fists, making her knuckles almost pure white. She also noticed that she had a snarl on her face. She took a deep breath and focused on Kakashi.

She looked at his eye to see a hind of... what was that? Fear...

She could feel tears prick at the edges of her vision when she heard Sakura scream. She looked to her right.

Naruto and Sasuke were down and the man must've seen Sakura's hair and gone for her. In a flash, Akako was standing protectively infront of Sakura, making the man backflip away.

"Oh, look like we've got a bad-ass here. Go run away and play with your dolls or something... before you get hurt too."

Akako wasn't fazed by the man's words. "I will slit your throat and make you gouge your own eyes out!" He yelled at her.

Behind her, Sakura cringed, but Akako was unfazed. "Threaten me all you want, I have no use for self-preservation."

"Then I'll just have to kill your friends first," He took a knife out of his weapons pouch and brought it to Sasuke's throat. Her breath cought in her throat.

"I know your kind." He said. "You don't care about yourself, but you would kill for your friends."

"If you know me so well, you would know better not to mess with my friends. Because, as you said, I don't care about myself, but... the second you even threaten my friends..." She dashed over to him so quick that he couldn't react in time. She kicked the kunai out of his hand and shoved him far away from Naruto and Sasuke, standing infront of them. "I'll have to restrain myself from killing you."

He caught his breath. "Prove it."

"You'll regret that," Akako said, crossing her hands over her chest and staring him down. After a couple seconds he began to cough up blood.

He fell to his knees, spitting blood onto the forest floor. "How...?" A look of fear was clearly written on his face as he fell over, dead.
