As Kakashi raced through the tall trees of the forest, he couldn't help but to feel responsible for the bluenett's disapearance.

"Kakashi!" He heard a female voice call his from the distance.

"Akako?" Kakashi yelled back. He may have only known the girl for a few months, but in that short amount of time, he had grown feelings for the girl, and obviously he hadn't expressed those correctly.

"Kakashi!" The voice was louder now.

"Akako!" The silver-haired ninja called out, determined to put things right with the young girl.

"Kakashi!" The voice was behind him now. As he turned around, he was tackled by a very familiar blonde.

"Naruto?" Kakashi asked, confused. He had most definately heard a female voice.

"Kakashi-sensei, what are you doing?" Naruto asked, climbing off of his silver-haired instructor.

"Akako, she's out here somewhere, what if she's in trouble?" Kakashi asked, panicked.

Sakura and Sasuke came in on the scene as he said this. Everyone looked confused and worried. Confused because their, monotone, emotionless sensei was showing worry for Akako. And worried because they had no idea where Akako was.

"Come on Kakashi-sensei. You can't possibly think that Akako-chan is in trouble, she's Akako." Saskura reassured her teacher.

"We have to find her!" Kakashi got up in a standing position.

"Why are you worried about her, she's the strongest of all of us." Sasuke said, joining the conversation.

"No Sasuke-kun! Your the strongest! What are you talking about." Sakura began to become an annoying bitchy fangirl, fawning over Sasuke. (A/N ~ I know that I'm the author and I'm not supposed to have an opinion, I'm just supposed to be neutral, but how else could I describe Sakura?)

"No," Sasuke looked Sakura straight in the eye. "She defeated that guy when neither I nor Naruto could."

"Sasuke's right." Naruto said.

Everyone just stared at Naruto, had her really just agreed to something Sasuke said?

"What?" Naruto brushed it off.

"I guess you guys are right." Kakashi shrugged. "I don't know what came over me." He scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment.

"We should probably go back then." Sasuke suggested, starting out ahead of everyone.

As they all walked back, Sasuke and Kakashi fell in pace behind the group. "Who did it?" He suddenly asked Kakashi.

"What do you mean?" Kakashi asked monotonuosly, no hint of the earlier emotions that he was showing.

"The Gen-jutsu."

"Her." Kakashi didn't even need to say her name for Sasuke to know that Akako had caused this, but he couldn't help but wondering why?

~~~
"She is quite impressive, we could use her." A man whispered to his silver-haired companion.
"Just as I was thinking." The man stopped talking to let a cool breeze pass, moving the bushes that they currently hid behind. "Let's take it up with the boss."
The man nodded as they both disappeared into the undergrowth.
~~~

"Five-hundred-ninety-seven, five-hundred-ninety-eight, five-hundred-ninety-nine, six-hundred." Akako dropped onto the cool ground of the forest floor from exhaustion." Six-hundred... I bet even Sakura can do better than that."

She had been concentrating Chakra in her feet so that she could stay in one place upside down. Six-hundred seconds was as far as she could push herself.

Weak. The voices began pushing back into her mind. Useless.

She pushed herself off of the cool ground. The sun reflected off of her forehead protector, reminding her of the reason she needed to become stronger.

"For Konoha, for Naruto and Sakura and Sasuke. For Kakashi..." Her breaths trailed off as she slowly closed her eyes letting her body finally rest.

~~~
The moonlight shone down on Akako' s pale skin, gently caressing her features that evidently showed fear. She looked around her, knowing what was to come. She brought her hand up to the light to see blood underneath her nails and covering her hands.
She tried to scream, but nothing came out of her mouth. She looked down at the ground to find more of the crimson liquid. It had coated the forest floor, making the ground shiny. She looked up in the sky to see a blood red moon, it's crimson color oozing into the night sky.
"I thought I wouldn't see you again..." A blood-curdling voice came out of the shadows. The only creature that truly knew what Akako was.
Akako took a step back, even though she knew that she couldn't escape this creature. The only creature that had seen her at her lowest point, where she was most vulnerable.
Some could call it her inner demon, but she knew better than that, this creature wasn't just a figment of her imagination. It was a curse that came to torture her every night in the form of a nightmare.
This creature was her jailer, her torturer, the only thing that she truly feared. But you could say that she was the bravest of anyone, for she faced this creature every night, never wavering from its cold gaze and the murderous glare it held.
"Are you ready to join me?"
"Never."
Of course the creature knew the answer. It was the same as since she was young.
"You never change."
"Neither do you." Akako stood, unwavering, ready for the beast to torture her soul til it deamed her punished.
