Akako's POV
I may not be an expert, but I'm pretty sure your bipolar. Also, can you leave me alone!? I'm trying to cuddle with my boy-I mean, Akamaru!
It's not my fault you can hear all my thoughts! Heh, were you about to say boyfriend?
No answer, he was totally going to say boyfriend.
I rolled my eyes, laying down. I looked up at the stars in the sky, imagining myself up there with them.
I looked at my wrist that had been covering in my crimson blood only a few minutes ago.
It was healed. Not so much as a scar being left. I sighed, putting my hands behind my head and closing my eyes.
"Mind if I join you?" A deep, yet familiar voice said from behind me. I wonder, how long has he been there?
"Of course, Gaara of the Desert."
He walked to beside me and sat down indian style, facing me.
"What does the great Gaara want with me?" I asked, sitting up and looking at him.
There was a slight moment of confusion before his emotionless façade was back up. "Why aren't you afraid of me?" He asked.
"I could be asking the same question." I looked at the sky and then back at him. "But to answer your question, I will ask another question." I paused. "Should I be afraid of you?"
"I can kill you very easily." He said, no emotion showing on his face.
"Go ahead. I'm waiting."
He sat there, staring at me confusion in his eyes, and a little bit of... amusement?
"You see, just because you can kill me, doesn't mean you will. You've had multiple chances to kill me, yet you haven't." He remained silent. "I also don't care much for my own life."
I leaned back to look at the stars. "Did you need something, because something tells me you aren't here for a friendly, 'how ya doin?'."
"Would you help me train for the third exams?"
My eyes widened as I sat up to look at him again. He was serious. "Why would I do that?"
"Why wouldn't you?"
"Touche." I laid down to look back at the sky. "Of course."
"Really?"
"Why not? But... why are you asking me?"
He shrugged.
I continued looking at the sky, Gaara sitting next to me.
Gaara's POV
I watched as she reached her hand into the sky, as if trying to catch the stars.
"Do you think they can see us?" She asked quietly.
"Who?"
"The stars..." She answered. "Do you think that up there, in the sky, they look at is like we look at them?"
I smiled, it was small, but it was a smile and it surprised me. "I doubt that think we are as pretty as we think they are."
"I don't know. Maybe we are like the stars... some of us shine brighter and longer than others, some like to be in bunches of other stars, some are all alone in the sky. But.." She smiled. "If you think about it. There is a whole night sky, a whole world. The stars may think they are alone, but there are other stars out there, thinking they are alone too."
