Worlds Apart

Chapter Seven

"I think i have an idea where Phe got her statement from in there." Neil said pointing towards the dining room where Seth and Nadia were still throwing weird looks at eachother.

Him and Diana had gone to the kitchen to wash the dishes while Phe rushed off to watch television. Diana just shrugged at Neil's comment as she was still shaken. She couldn't believe her daughter.

"What makes you think Seth has a thing for your PA? " Neil continued as he looked at the two people still in the same position, "Cuz from my point of view, Seth seems wary of her." This made Diana look at the two and scoffed.
"Men are so dumb they have to be hit on the head to accept what they feel." She said angrily

"Hey I'm a man" Neil protested, "And I wasn't hit first to realise what I felt for you." He pouted making Diana smile.

"Well babe you are an exception, that why I love you." Diana put her hands around Neil and kissed him. Neil pulled her closer and aligned their bodies making Diana gasp as he deepened the kiss.

"Diana I'm going home," The two pulled apart as Nadia interrupted but Neil held onto her and muttered for her to go while Diana told her to wait as she disentangled herself from a disgruntled Neil.

"I'll see you off sweetie." She said as she followed Nadia outside. They walked in silence and the moment the door closed on them Nadia turned on Diana.

"How dare you discuss me with your six year old daughter?" Nadia whisper-yelled.

Diana's mouth opened and closed like that of a fish. Her eyes looked at Nadia like they were going to pop out. Her friend knew her very well.

"Um sweetie it wasn't like that." She whispered back.

"How was it then?" Nadia folded her hands infront of her chest and stared her friend down.

"Ehm, it was actually Phe who started the conversation. "

"So now you wanna put the blame on your daughter, huh?" Nadia looked incredulously at her friend.

"Of course not." Diana denied vehemently, "We were just in the car when Phe broached the topic of how Seth has it for you since Neil's birthday, sweetie I was surprised too. But hey, this is Pheobe we are talking about,  the girl has a brain of a thirty year old."

"Gosh I understand but I was so embarrassed in there, I hope Seth won't think i put Pheobe to it, cuz that is exactly the accusing look he was giving me in there. I wanted to die right away."

"So ehm, is it true?" Diana asked

"Ofcoarse not, arghhhh I don't believe you." Nadia yelled and stomped her foot then made a dash for her car leaving Diana grinning. She knew her friend too well, hmm seemed like it wasn't only men who needed to be hit on the head first to admit their feelings. She turned with the same grin and it suddenly was wiped off when she bumped into Seth.

"Someone looks so content. " Seth said glaring at her, "So you are finally happy that what you weren't able to say out has been done by your oh so outspoken niece?"

"What are you guys talking about?" Di pretended innocence,  "And what have I got to do with this, for godsake why aren't the questions directed to the culprit herself, huh?" She turned towards the house to hide the grin that wanted to split her face, "You know what Seth, I can't do this." She huffed and went inside her house and bumped into Neil. "Not you too."

Neil looked at the worried look on Diana and frowned at Seth, "Now what have you done to her?" He said through gritted teeth.

"Hello, it's me who has been offended here." Seth waved his hands about.
