I woke up filling better than I did before but groaned that I had to go to work. I knew I had a ton of things to do for the charity event. I also knew if I kept skipping work Mr. Richards would began to get angry. As I laid in bed Cordell came out of the shower with a towel wrapped around his waist. "Well don't you look sexy right now?" he smirked and walked to his closet. "Why you up so early anyway I thought you didn't have to go until nine?"
"I got to get Sapphire from my grandparents and take her to school."
"Why can't they just take her?"
"Because she won't let anyone take her to school but me. When my grandad tried to drop her off she wouldn't leave the house and began to freak out. So ever since then I have taken her every day."
"Well aren't you just dad of the year."
"Yea and maybe someday it will be our children I am spoiling to death too." I looked at him not sure of what to say. Instead of answering I got of bed and just went to take a shower. It's not that I didn't want to have children it's just I didn't know if I could. I wanted to tell him but I didn't want to ruin whatever we could be in the future.
When I got out of the shower I found Cordell sitting on the bed like he was waiting for me. "Why are you sitting like this?" I went to the closet where he made me put my clothes. I pulled out a red wrap dress with black ankle strap shoes. When I turned around I bumped into Cordell and almost fell but he caught me. "I know what I said about the whole kids' thing freaked you out but that's not what I meant to do. I was just making a prediction. I mean I do want to have kids with you someday but I know you are not ready." I sat on the bed and sighed, "I know you aren't trying to push me it's just hearing us having kids made me freak out and uncomfortable but that doesn't mean I don't want kids. Just really need us to continue at this pace." He kneeled in front of me, "I know and I got you. Now get dressed so I can take you to work."
"Wait you are taking me to work?"
"Hell yea!" I laughed and watched him walk out without a care in the world. I quickly got dressed and put on my makeup. I sprayed oil on my hair to keep the curls bouncy while they were loose. As I walked downstairs I heard Cordell on the phone yelling at someone. I stood by the door while he wrapped it up.
"Isn't it a little too early to be yelling at someone?"
"Not when you are the boss and they are screwing up my money."
"Well then go ahead boss man." He laughed and ushered me out the door. We stopped by his grandparents to get Sapphire first then took her to school. When she saw I was in the car she almost freaked out from excitement. She told Cordell that I was the best surprise ever. I had to admit I did miss her too.
"You want something to eat?"
"You don't have to I know you have to get to your meeting."
"What do you want?" I looked at him and he the look like he wasn't going to let this go. "Fine there's a place three blocks away from my job called Lucy's." he pulled up to the place and we both got out. The place wasn't really crowded so I knew it wouldn't be long for us to get in and out. "What do you want?"
"A supreme breakfast burrito, a chocolate chip muffin, and a large orange juice." He looked at me like I said something out of the way. "Don't look at me like that." he didn't say anything but just moved up to the register. He ordered the food and soon we were on our way to my job. "I will pick you up at five, okay?"
"Okay." Leaned over and kissed his lips before sliding out and heading in.
"I see you finally decided to show your face," Denise said following me into my office. "Whatever tell me what I missed."
