I woke up to a stinging pain in my side. I rubbed my eyes trying to get the sleep out of my eyes. At first I didn't remember where I was until I saw Lelaih lying next to me. She was still sound asleep. I sighed at being here and watched as she breathed. I gently rubbed my hand up and down her cheek trying to feel her soft skin. As I kept going she begin to move around. I sat up watching her slowly open up her eyes. "Lelaih?" she winced from the pain but focused on me. "Cordell?"

"You're finally awake." I kissed her on her lips. She half smiled then coughed. "What am I doing here?"

"You don't remember what happened?" she scrunched up her eyebrows trying to remember anything. "I remember the wedding."

"What else?" she shook her head. "I think I remember being in your lap in a car somewhere."

"That was on the way to the hospital. You passed out before we could make it." She nodded. She then begin to feel her stomach as if finally remembering the babies. "Where are the babies," she asked panicking now. "They are in intensive care."

"Are they okay?"

"Yea the doctors said they just have to be monitored since they were delivered early." She nodded looking down at her hands. I knew something was on her mind now. I lifted her chin up to meet me. "What's wrong?"

"I was feeling pain throughout the day but I kept brushing it off. I should've found you and told you and none of this would've happened. If I wasn't so focused on having the perfect wedding, I could've gotten here quicker."

"Hey don't think that way. You're here now and the babies are fine, that's all we need to think about." I kissed her again. "Do you know the sex of the babies?" I shook my head. "I haven't even seen them yet. They told me I had to let them rest for a day but I am going to see them today. When I do I will tell you."

"I bet they are girls," she said smiling. "I keep telling you woman, I'm only having boys. You got Sapphire that's all you get." She smiled again.

She eventually went back to sleep when the meds kicked back in. I was so happy she was okay. I was even happier that I got a chance to talk to her. Just hearing her voice made my soul rest. I held her hand in mine as she slept.

"How she doing today," her mom asked coming into the room. "You just missed her, she was up and talking."

"Long as she is talking I can wait my turn."

"I didn't know when she would wake up or if she would."

"I told you my daughter is a fighter."

"Yea she is." She sat her things down and made her way over to where we were. "How you holding up?"

"Other than almost losing everything, I'm fine." She laughed. "You should go home and get cleaned up some."

I shook my head, "I can't go home without her. Being in that home and knowing she not coming through that door just doesn't sit right with me. That's our home, we have to be there together."

"Then you should let someone at least bring you some clothes to change out of that tux."

"My mom is already on it. She is supposed to be bringing Sapphire up here."

"You get any good sleep on this bed?"

"Nah. This bed was not made for two people." She took my hand in hers making me look at her. "I know you are worried, we all are but you have to make sure you are taking care of yourself too. It's not going to help Lelaih if you aren't good when she gets better." I sighed. "I know, I just can't think straight with her like this. We should be on our honeymoon right now, not in this damn place going through this shit." She squeezed my hand again. "I misjudged you."
