"Mommy hurry up so we can start!" Today was the day Sapphire and I chose to do her project. Cordell had to go to work so he couldn't help but he promised to try and hurry back. I quickly threw on a sweater and headed downstairs where she was. We had transformed the entire living room so we could lie on the floor and spread out like we want. "Mommy!"
"Calm down lady bug I am here."
"You were taking too long."
"Well I'm glad to see you are excited about school." I sat down in front of her looking at the mess he had already created. She had markers, crayons, and glitter everywhere. "Alright what are we doing first?"
"We have to draw the house first."
"Alright then get your markers and crayons and let's get started!" we laid down with our feet in the air. We spent an hour trying to draw the perfect house that was as big as the one we were living in. Sapphire was very much like her dad; she had to have everything perfect. By the time we finished the house it was lunch time. I got up and went to the kitchen to make us some sandwiches. When I returned someone knocked on the door. Before I could answer it Grace walked in. "Tell me what's the point of you knocking if you are just going to come in?"
"Well when I knocked I realized I had a key so I said why wait and just came right in."
"One day you are going to walk in and not like what you see."
"Then that will be the day I tear my eyes out."
"What are you doing here?"
"I came by to see what you and lil bit were doing today." She looked around, "But I can clearly see from experiencing you are doing some sort of arts and crafts that I won't no part of."
"So you telling me you don't want to help?"
"That will be a no, I get plenty of that with Trinity and it is not nearly this clean." She walked into the kitchen and I followed behind her. I watched as she got a bottle of water from the fridge and then sat on the counter dangling her feet. "You know you have such good manners?"
"I know I try."
"Okay now tell me why are you actually here." She drank her water and then sighed. "Okay I'm thinking about dating."
"I thought you were already dating."
"Hooking up and dating are two different things. I want what you and Cordell have so I am thinking about actually trying to find someone to have a serious relationship with."
"Do you think you are ready for that? I mean we just ended the whole thing with Damien."
"I think it's time I let Damien stay in my past and try and find my future. Trinity deserves a man that wants to be there not someone who is just using her. And I deserve someone who actually loves me."
"Okay then where do we start?"
"We?"
"I know you didn't think I was going to let you go man shopping by yourself."
"And how do you think Cordell will feel about this?"
"He will be fine as long as I walk down the aisle to him; he could care less, besides if I get in trouble I will blame you."
"While we are on the subject of exes, what about yours? Do you think about him?" I debated if I should tell her I saw him the other day. I really didn't want to talk about it but she needed to know. "Actually I saw him the other day at the store." Her eyes literally came out of her sockets. "Why didn't you tell me sooner? What happened?!"
