Shay's POV

You can always tell when women are not in the mood. Like that moment when you can sense when a storm is coming. So when Everest's car pulled into the drive way I could feel something was off. I opened the front door as she went to the backseat to pull the girls out the car. I went to help her. Aliyah was sleeping and I unbuckled her seatbelt pulling her out. She snuggled wrapping her little arms around my neck and I held her. I tried to make eye contact with Eve but she avoided it as she picked up Zari and turned to go in the house.

"Mama eat eat." Zari said as we came inside and she smiles at her.

"You hungry sweetie?" She said and carried her to the kitchen. I laid Ali on the couch laying a blanket over her before going into the kitchen. She had sat Zari in her highchair and was in the kitchen mashing up pea and sliceing grapes in half. She wouldn't stop moving and I just wanted her to tell me what was wrong.

"Everest please." I said softly and wrapped my arms around her and she stilled and then starts to shudder. She turned and pressed her face into my chest crying and it was so bewildering. "Everest tell me what's wrong?"

"H-He....he didnt even want to meet them! He thought I wanted money from him Shay. He didn't even want to meet them." She staggered and I just held her as she rambled. What I gathered form the rambling was that Chrysler didn't take the news about the twins so well and that she didn't want anything to do with him anymore ever. I just rubbed her back softly letting her get it all out. I was pissed she was this upset but I knew me being upset wouldn't do anything to help her so I thought positively.

"It's gonna be alright Eve. What does is opinion matter?" I asked? She sniffles and looked up at me. "They have you and me and that's all they need. All you had to do as their mother is introduce them to him and if doesn't want to know them then it's his loss." She nodded and smiled a little her brown eyes full of leftover tears. I kisses her cheeks making her laugh. "I'm all the dad they'll need. I love them like they are my own why try to involve a nigga that ain't worth shit." She gave me the eye for my language and she turns to continue to make lunch. I go back into the living room seeing Aliyah sitting up on the couch looking around at everything and I smiled at her scooping her up making her bust in giggles.

"You hungry little goober? Want some eat eat?" I asked and she shook her head.

"Tonneys Dada." She said tapping my shoulder and I nodded going over to the TV and turns it on sitting her on the couch next to me handing her a few of her bears. She fumbled with them as I flipped to the cartoon channel. It captured her attention and I sat back relaxing watching her play. I few minutes later Eve came in with Zari and she reached out for me.

"Down! Down." She said to Eve and she giggled putting her down. Zari wobbled her way over to the couch where I was and I scooped her up.

"Zaribear!!!" I said tickling her side and she giggling making me laugh. Eve sat down on the couch with a bowl of sliced grapes and Ali reach her hand out for one which she handed over. Ali sucked on it still watching her cartoons. Zari had snuggled up between me and Eve and was watching the cartoon too. I looked over at Eve and she smiled at me softly. Her eyes were still sad a little and I rubbed her hand soothingly. "I love you." I said honestly and she leaned in to kiss me. Zari squealed as she was sandwiched between us and I laughed. "Sorry baby girl" Eve said kissing her cheeks. "I love you sweetie"

"I wove you mama." She said cheeky and then looks over at me. "I wove you Dada" I smiled hard and scooped her up hugging her.

"I love you too Zari so much." I look over at Ali and laugh. I love you too Ali come her." I say and she crawls over to me hugging me tight. Eve watches me smiling more and leans over to join the big family hug. I hug my girls back and in this moment I have never felt more at home than I do at this very second.
