Everest POV
I was up before my alarm rang even. I climbed out of bed and grabbed a light blue t-shirt and a white hi-lo skirt and walked to the bathroom turning on the shower. I looked at myself in the mirror and sighed. I looked flushed and surprisingly had no bags from lack of sleep. The events of last night start to creep back into my mind and I blushed uncontrollably. She didn't lie. She had skill but besides that. She told me about her family and what happened to her parents. I smiled lightly. I was wrong about her. I mean she’s still annoying but she’s pretty cool when it comes around to it. I showered and got out getting dressed. As I was curling my last piece of hair my phone rang.
“Hello?”
“Sup.” Her voice said. I smiled uncontrollably.
“Good Morning is the proper answer Kieara.” I said her name like it was poison but laughed. She laughed too. “What do you want? I’m getting ready for school.”
“Let me pick you up.” She said.
“Um.” I said biting my bottom lip thinking about it and then sighs.”Sure, I’ll text you my address.”
“Great i’ll see you in five.” She said and hung up. I sighed looking at my phone and looking up in my make-up table mirror. I dont know why but butterflies began to flutter in the pit of my stomach. I added mascara, eye shadow that brought out my eyes more, and lip gloss. I looked myself over and tousled my curls. I told myself this wasn't for her. I just needed to wear a little make-up but like all the lies I tell myself I didn't believe it. I grabbed my bookbag and purse and was slipping on my Jordan’s when the doorbell rang. My heart jumped into my throat and I came down stairs. My mom had got the door and i could hear her from the top of the stairs.
“May I help you.” She asked,
“Hi my name is Kieara, I’m a friend of Everest’s are you her sister?” She asked and I heard my mother laugh.
“Oh no i’m her mother Carmen. It’s always nice to meet a friend of Eve’s.” She said and I hit the bottom step and they both looked at me. Kieara wore a Trukfit t-shirt, True Religion Jeans, and Timberland boots with her Letterman jacket.
“Oh Eve you look so pretty!” My mom squealed and hugged me. I sighed and smiled.
“I have to go mom or i’ll be late.” I said and she let me go. I looked at Kieara who was still staring at me. “You ready?” I asked and she shook her head like she was in a trance and then focused back on me.
“Uh yeah i’m ready.” She said and said goodbye to my mother. I waved at her too as we walked to her car. “You look good Eve.” She said and I smiled but it faded when we got to the car. In her black Charger sat three females, one in the front seat and two in the back. As she went to open the door the girl seated there looked me up and down and made a face sliding over. I was already pissed as I got into the car. Kieara closed the door and got into the driver's seat and drove off. I didn't know the two girls in the back but the female in the front seat was the girl from the elevator. Something inside of me burned and I rolled my eyes looking out the window. They talked amongst themselves the first few minutes of the ride pretending like I wasn't here which I was glad for.
“Hey you.” The girl in the front called to me and I looked at her.
“My name is Everest.” I said and she rolled her eyes.
“Yeah Yeah so where are you from New Girl?”
“Georgia.”
“Isn’t that like in the country?” The girl on the other side of the backseat asked me asked.
