Eve's P.O.V
Three Years Later~
The last three years had flown by faster than I would have ever thought possible and so much has changed. By far the biggest change would be Shay getting a promotion at her job and it requiring us to move from California to Denver, Colorado. I wasn't really sure about moving so far away from my mother but she ensured me it was for the best. My father had a house luckily in Denver as his home away from home, and he gave it to us as long as we promised to take good care of it. With that we ended up in our new Denver home. That had been almost five months ago and we had settled in pretty well. It was just one of those December mornings when I decide that I want to sleep in. I was deep in my sleep when I heard it. The stampede of tiny feet before I felt them climb onto the bed jumping. I heard Shay groan and I smiled, my face tucked under the covers.
"Mommy! Wake up!" I heard really close to my ear as Aaliyah shook me.
"Shh Alicat, mama is trying to sleep." Shay said and I felt her shuffle out of bed. "How about blueberry pancakes for breakfast or some cheerios?" She asked and they both screeched jumping off the bed to run to the kitchen before I felt a firm smack on my ass.
"I just bought you 45 minutes." She chuckles. "Use them well Mamabear." I smile peeping out from under the cover at her, caught pretending to sleep. Once the room was clear I tossed and turned trying to get comfortable but it was with no success. By the time I had flopped on my back for the third time I knew I wasn't gonna get back to sleep. I looked over at my clock, 7:10am. I flung the covers off and swung my legs over the edge and slide of my slippers. I shuffle over to to my drawer running a hand through my bed head. I pulled out some clothes for today and go to take my morning shower. I took my sweet time letting the hot water wake up my body as I stood under the shower head. I washed in my body wash and got out feeling more refreshed. I dressed in some blue skinny jeans and a black fitted long sleeve shirt. I ran a brush through my hair going for the natural waves today and some red chucks. I went back into the bedroom and made the bed. Once finished with that I made my way to the kitchen. It was a circus in there! There was cereal all over the counters and the floor as Aliyah, Azariah, and Shay ate their cereal on my countertops. The counter tops for goodness sake! All of these good chairs and they're on my counters. My eyes narrowed into needles and shay felt the full force of it.
"Daddy said we could sit up here like big girls and eat our breakfast." Zari said first her mouth full of cheerios and I couldn't help but smile at how adorable she was.
"The countertops are high baby girl and daddy knows it make mommy nervous for you to sit up there and not in the perfectly fine highchairs at the perfectly fine table." I said and reached for her looking at shay and she smiled knowing she was in trouble.
"Daddy said you'd be upset so that's why we had to it fast!" Ali chimed in and shay laughed.
"Ali-Cat I thought we were partners in crime? Your not suppose to tell the secrets." Shay said jumping off the counter and pulling Ali into her arms. Shay tickles her sides making her laugh.
"Alright alright." I say. There was no way in hell Shay was gonna slide cutely out of the cussing. "Come on my little bandits. Daddy has to clean the kitchen and you have to go get ready because we have to go Christmas shopping for Abuelo and Abuela." I say and they jump up and down before running to their room. I turn to Shay who already knowns I'm about to get on her ass about this kitchen and the girls up on the counter and not a chair. Any of the perfectly good chairs we have. Hell they could have even been on the couch! As if she's reading my mind she closes the distance between us to pull me close. I look up at her about to start in on her but she kisses me softly nipping my bottom lip. Damn her for knowing me so well. I wrap my arms around her melting and her mouth turns at the corners against mine. She was smiling. Double damn her.
