Eve's POV

I looked at her for a while with out talking. I had so many questions that I wasn't sure exactly where to start. She looked like the same girl I knew all those many years back but the air between us was different. We were strangers. She looked as if she was assessing me too. Finding my familiar parts. I still carried some of my pregnancy weight and I wondered if I was still pretty to her. She gained a little weight to but I looked like mostly muscle. Clad in her basketball shorts and sweater I spotted a tattoo on her leg. I seemed to be a date of some sort and I focused on guessing what it could represent instead of meeting her eye contact. The silence just continued to stretch on as we both picked each other to pieces mentally. The ringing of my phone was a blessing and I pulled the iPhone 6 from my back pocket to check the caller ID before answering it. "Hey babe." I said and something flickered in Kiara eyes. The look was so quick that I almost missed it. Was she jealous?

"I got our tree. Almost had to fight some old dude for it but I got it babe." Shay says with a little laugh and I smile softly.

"Good job babe." I say just as Aaliyah little hand pats my shoulder.

"Is that daddy?" She asked her voice soft and I nodded to her kissing her forehead. "I want to talk to daddy please." She asks wiggling in my arm and I nod knowing if I say no it would be a fit. Ali was Shay's girl. When it was about time Shay gets home, Ali would sit on the couch and wait. She won't move an inch til she heard the door open. When she was hurt or sick she would want shay to take care of her. Azariah was the complete opposite of course. She was a mama's girl all the way. She would rather sit under me all day and trail behind me while I work than play with her own toys. It's funny how different identical twins could be.

"Baby, Aaliyah wants to speak to you." I tell Shay before passing the phone to Ali which she holds up to her face.

"Daddy?" She asks as her face lit up like a Christmas tree."Hi daddy! I got in trouble." She says with a little frown. "I walked off from mama in the store and she got worried about me. Yes I know. I'm sorry." I put her down so she could stand with Zari next to me. I hadn't forgotten the set of brown-green orbs watching my every move and knew that I'd have to say something now. I looked at her and inhales a little. Here goes nothing.

"What are you doing in Colorado?" I asked finally, it seemed to be the easiest question.

"My dad lives down here. I like to visit him during Christmas time. What are you doing here?" She countered.

"I live here." I said and this took her by surprise.

"Since when? I thought you still lived in Long Beach with you mom." She asked and I shook my head. It had been 5 years without contact so of course she would think I still lived there.

"No, I haven't lived with her since the girls were born." I said and she nodded and chuckled a little.

"I couldn't imagine you moving all the way out here on your own. Knowing you." She laughed more and it annoyed me a little. What did that mean?  'knowing me'? She was still, after all these years, annoying as shit. How did she even know me when she spent most of our relationship cheating and lying. Why did she irritate me so much?

"No I didn't move out here alone actually. Me and Shay left our house in Long Beach to come out here together." I say this and it wipes the stupid smug smile off her face. Point for me. He face morphs a little and a clear emotion crawls across her face. Anger.

"Your still with that bitch?" She asked and I frowned angry. How dare she.

"At least she cared about me. While you were out fucking god knows who she was being nice!" I shot back. She had no right to be angry. I spent a year being lied to and trampled over while she fucked everything in a mini skirt.
