Ello loyal readers (or what's left of them) I'm back again you guys. Trying not to put this story on hold for y'all so here's another chapter.

Everest POV

I was like I was staring death in the face as both of them looked at me. My face flushed immediately and a protective hand flew over my stomach. Neither of them spoke but stared me down at like a wounded animal. I took a deep breath and in one motion and stood wobbling over to the counter. I quickly pulled out my wallet and forked over the 20 bucks for the pizza. Finally Chrysler spoke.

"H-Hey Eve how you been?" He said and I turned to look at him.

"Good. How about you?"

"I've been fine. I haven't seen you around lately. You go to a different school?"

"N-no I finished my semester out online." I said waiting for the guy to bring me back my change. He couldn't have chosen a worst time.

"I thought they only did that for dropouts and pregnant girls." He said as the cashier came back with my change. I took it graciously as I slid the pizza over my stomach.

"Yeah they do." I said and headed for the door. A hand reached put to grab me.

"What do you mean? You aren't pregnant are you?" He asked and my facial expression must have ratted me out because his eyes made a bee line to my swollen belly. My luck was shitty but it couldn't have been this bad. "Oh wow....um i didmt know. Congrats. Is.....is it....?" His question trailed and I knew what he was asking.

"No." I blurted out almost too fast but he never glanced up at me as his eyes got serious like he was about to crack the code of life. You could tell he was deep in thought as his brows furrow at his attempt to try and fit my stomach size into numbers and then those into the last time we were together. I took that time to escape before he realize the numbers fit perfectly. "I really have to get going it was nice catching up with you." I turned on my heals and opened the door ignoring the brisk air nipping at my cheeks and walked to the car. I found myself looking back at the pizza place door in fear I was followed and slipped into the car. I started it and pulled out heading home trying my best to not speed like a bat our of hell. When I pulled up to the house and came inside Shay was at the door waitig for me.

"What's wrong?" She asked almost immediately before I could even get my coat off. I cursed my inability to hide my emotions. Especially this emotion. Fear.

"I'm fine. I got the pizza, he took forever to give it to me but I survived." I began trying to change the subject grasping for anything other than my franticness. It didn't work, not even a little.

"Everest you look like you've seen a ghost," she stated and placed both hand on my shoulders eyes smotheringly serious. "What happened? Talk to me." Her eyes were too warm almost hot in their demand for an answer and I looked down cursing my inability of anything while under those brown orbs.

"I ran into Chrysler and Breezy at the pizza place." My mouth was dry as I said this and my stomach turned uncomfortably.

"What happened? They hurt you?" She asked and her voice made me look up at her bewildered. Her menacing tone match her facial expression, her mouth set in a hard line and her eyes held a solid unreadable expression. This side of Shay scared me and I stumbled for what to say next to diffuse it.

"No he asked..questions about the baby." I said and her expression changed to a different unreadable expression and she leaned against the counter.

"W-What he say?" She asked and her voice conveyed the hidden emotion. Fear. We both knew that if he found out that he could easily ask for custody if he knew it was his. I know this sounds selfish but I didn't want to share my baby. Not with him and I was aware he had the right but so did I.
