Holy shit. I cannot believe that I, Katniss Everdeen, just got a date with Peeta Mellark. I look at Johanna and Annie and see that they are both wearing shocked expressions. I chuckle and look back at Peeta.
He looks into my eyes and smiles, " I'll have Finnick text my phone number to Annie, apparently they exchanged numbers awhile ago." I look at Peeta, but the ocean breeze blows my hair into my eyes.
I tuck my hair behind my ears and say, "So, I"ll text you soon", I say. Peeta smiles, " ok",and walks back to Finnick and Gale.
Once Annie, Johanna and I are a safe distance away from the boys, Johanna breaks the silence. " So brainless, out of all of us you somehow were asked out first. What's your secret?"
Annie and I chuckle, " I don't know, I guess that Peeta just couldn't. Resist. This", I say striking a sexy pose. Johanna and Annie laugh, " yeah, because you just radiate sexiness" Johanna says. I chuckle and get into the driver's seat in our car and drive back to our beach house.
When we get home we go to our bedrooms to change out of our bathing suits and them we each take a shower. Then, I go into the kitchen to get some lunch. I open the refrigerator and take out a yogurt and some fruit. As I am eating Annie and Johanna come into the kitchen.
" Do you want Peeta's number?" Annie says with a smirk. I try to act calm and say " um sure", but on the inside I'm like I NEED IT NOW. I think that they can sense this because they both laugh at me.
Annie goes onto her phone and opens her chat with Finnick and shows me Peeta's number. I add Peeta's number into my phone and then turn my phone off. Annie and Johanna both look confused, "what?".
" Aren't you going to text him?", Johanna says. Even though I'm freaking out on the inside I say" Nah, I'll do it later" and walk toward the stairs with my half eaten yogurt. " oh hell no you're not!" Johanna says and pulls me toward the living room and pushes me onto the couch.
She grabs the yogurt out of my hand and sets it onto the floor. "Brainless we are not fucking stupid, Annie and I know that you have a huge crush on Peeta. So, you are going to sit here, text him, and get yourself a date with Peeta."
I groan and blush at the same time. I turn on my phone and create a chat with Peeta. " Ok so what should I say?" Johanna says " you should say ' hey babe, I want to see you' ".
I groan and roll my eyes, " Just say ' hey it's Katniss' ", Annie says. I nod and begin the chat.
Katniss: Hey Peeta, this is Katniss.
Less than a minute later I get a reply from Peeta.
Peeta: Hey Katniss. For our date, would you like to go to the cafe right next to the beach for dinner tomorrow?
" Damn, he got straight to the point! He wants you brainless" Johanna says. The three of us laugh and then I send him a reply.
Katniss: Sure! What time would you like to go?
Peeta: Is 6:30 good for you?
Katniss: Yeah that's perfect, see you then.
After I send him the last message I turn off my phone, " I can't believe that Katniss got a date before you and me Annie. I was almost positive that Finnick would have asked Annie out when we first met the boys at mall " Johanna says.
"Hey, how do you know that he hasn't asked me out already, maybe I turned down his offer, " Annie replies. Johanna scuffs, " oh please, Katniss and I see how you two look at each other, you wouldn't turn Finnick down." Anne mutters " you are right" and heads upstairs to her room.
The rest of the day is pretty much uneventful. A fews hours after I texted Peeta we went out to dinner and the new came home and went into the pool.
After we got out of the pool the girls helped me choose an outfit for my date.

I chose a white tank top, pink cardigan, beige shorts and sandals. Peeta said that we are going to a cafe so I don't want to wear anything too fancy. For the rest of the night we watch random movies on tv till midnight and then we go to bed.
