Chapter 22

Annie comes homes about a half hour later and comes into the living room with us. "The date was wonderful, Finnick was such a gentlemen. He is funny and sweet and nice and thoughtful and hot and caring and oh did I mention HOT!" Annie rambles and dramatically falls onto the couch with a gasp.

"What did you guys do?", I reply, " oh um we just sat here and watched a movie like how we said we were, and as you can see we still are." Annie shrugs, "ok". Johanna decides to open her big mouth, " so how was the beach cafe?"

"How do you know that we went to the beach cafe?", Johanna pauses and now it's my turn to finally give her the death glare today," oh um....lucky guess? Everyone goes there". Nice save Johanna. "Oh it was fine, it just has the usual stuff", Annie walks upstairs.

I throw one of the couch pillows at Johanna, " and you call me brainless"." Relax, just a little slip-up, no harm done." I sigh, "you're lucky, I had to hold myself back from doing some harm to you." We turn back to the movie and I let out a sigh, our mission was successful.

Katniss' POV

A few days go by without seeing Peeta, Finnick and Gale. I decide to text Peeta to ask him when would be a good time to hang out.

Katniss- Hey Peeta would u like to hang out today? We haven't seen each other in awhile.

Peeta- Miss me already ;) sure how about in 10 mins , I'll pick u up and we can go to the beach. Sound good?

Katniss- easy there bread boy. yeah that fine see you then.

I get out a red bikini and shorts and a t-shirt to wear over it and get dressed while i wait for Peeta to pick me up.

He arrives a few minutes after I'm ready. He looks up at me and smiles when I get in the car, " hey whats up?" he says. " nothing much, what are the other guys doing today?", I ask as he drives to the beach.

" I think Finnick is just staying home, he had to give surfing lessons early this morning. Gale said that he is going to try to get Johanna to let him take her out tonight.

"I wonder how thats going to go", Peeta says with a laugh. "It went pretty well for you", I say referring to our date with a smile and he blushes.

We arrive at the beach and find a nice spot to sit. I lay my towel on the sand and take off m shorts and shirt revealing my bathing suit. Peeta looks at me and whistles, I laugh and smack his shoulder. He takes off his shirt and shoes and I pretend that I'm not looking, but I guess I didn't do a good job because he laughs and pulls me towards the water.

We play around in the water a little bit when suddenly Peeta disappears. I start to panic and look around in the water but I can't find him.

I'm about to scream for a lifeguard when I feel someone wrap their arms around me from behind. I jump and turn around and I see Peeta laughing his ass off. I smack his chest, " what the fuck Peeta you scared me to death", but I start to laugh because his laugh is contagious.

He hugs me again and I lay my head on his chest, I thought that I lost him. " I thought I lost you", I say still hugging him. " I'm sorry I was just playing around", he says and we swim around for a little longer.

We get out of the water and walk back to our stuff when Peeta realizes that he forgot his towel, " hey can we share your towel I forgot mine", his eyes don't meet mine.

I don't believe that he "forgot" his towel but oh well lets see where this goes. I rap my towel around the both of us and we sit and watch the waves. I lay my head on his shoulder and ask, " did you forget your towel on purpose?". He smirks and looks down at me, "maybe".
