This chapter is dedicated to JillianNight for being an awesome friend.
Instead of finding trouble, since Angel is town and most likely keeping an eye on me, I sit near the entrance and start sketching.
Mike, on the other hand, is determined to find and talk to Star.
"Why are you so insistent on finding this girl, Mike?" I asked him as we pulled up to the boardwalk.
"Because she's different."
I roll my eyes at the memory of his bullshit answer.
"You look lonely, your Majesty."
I look up and see David standing near me. I glance around and see the other three heading our way.
"Not lonely. It's actually pretty relaxing to just sit and watch." I tell him, standing up.
"What's this?" Paul asks, gently taking my sketchbook. "Damn, Majesty. This is amazing."
"Majesty?" I ask Paul, ignoring the compliment.
He shrugs. "You're a princess in our eyes. So Majesty fits you."
I shrug and turn to David. "So what's the plan for tonight?"
He smirks. "Scarin' your brother, partyin', among other things."
I giggle. "How exactly are we scaring my brother?"
His smirk widens. "I have a plan."
I lean against his arm. "Am I not allowed to know this plan?"
He grins, wrapping an arm around my shoulder. "No. Because that would ruin the surprise of it all."
I pout and he laughs, dropping a kiss to the top of my head.
Paul smirks and catcalls.
I glare at him and, when he continues, I reach over and slap him upside the head.
"Ow! What was that for?" He exclaims.
I shrug and snuggle into David's side. David chuckles as Paul pouts. He leads me over to their bikes and I lean against David's as he sits on it. He lights a cigarette and offers it to me but I shake my head.
"Too unclean for you, your Majesty?" He quips.
I roll my eyes, ignoring him until he wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me close.
"I don't like to be ignored." He murmurs in my ear, causing me to shiver.
I lean my head back to look at him. "A princess can ignore whoever she chooses to."
He stares at me for a moment before releasing me with a chuckle.
I straighten then turn around to face David when the guys seem to be looking in his direction. I realize, very quickly, that they're not looking at David. They're watching Mike who's walking with Star.
David puts out his cigarette and offers me a hand. I climb on and the guys take off, only stopping to surround Mike and Star near his bike.
"Where you goin', Star?" David asks as he idles near Mike.
"For a ride." Star responds, eyes downcast. "This is Michael."
David smirks. "I already know."
I tap his arm but he just leans against his handlebars.
Mike grabs Star's hand, all the while flickering his gaze between David and I. "Let's go." He tells Star. "You, too, Kiri."
I roll my eyes. "How do you expect me to get home? Walk?"
David chuckles but immediately sobers when Star goes to climb on the back of Mike's bike.
"Star." David says. She finally gets the point and walks towards David. He motions to Paul who pats the seat behind him.
"You know where Hudson's Bluff is, overlooking the point?" David asks my brother, whose gaze is darting between Star and I.
Mike scoffs. "I can't beat your bike."
"You don't have to beat me, Michael." David says, smirking. "You just have to try and keep up."
Mike gives a little nod.
David smirks back at me. "Hold on tight, your Majesty."
I roll my eyes and dig my fingers into his taut stomach before whispering in his ear, "Tight enough for you?"
He chuckles and smirks in my brother's direction. I look up and see that my brother is glaring at my hands.
"I think my sister should ride with me." He says, making the guys laugh.
"I don't think Majesty wants to ride with you, dude." Paul says, confusing Mike.
"Majesty? Who the hell is Majesty?"
David smirks. "Your sister's a princess. It only right that she be called by her proper title."
Mike grunts. "Kiri. Come on. You don't know these dudes."
I huff. "I'm a big girl, Mike. I don't need you to take care of me."
Mike growls and starts to get off his bike.
"Remember, Michael." David says, revving his bike. "Try to keep up."
I plaster myself to his back as he takes off.
We speed across the boardwalk then down a set of stairs into the sand. I laugh and whoop with the guys as we race through the night.
David chuckles and goes the tiniest bit faster as we approach the docks. I duck a little and giggle, adrenalin rushing through my veins.
David, apparently hearing my giggle, speeds up and he jumps a hill and slides around a bend of trees.
As the terrain gets rougher, I get looser. I continue to holler and whoop, much to David and the boys' satisfaction. Each time I holler, it's reciprocated by the three behind us.
Mike eventually speeds up and pulls even with David as we approach the edge of the cliff. Mike speeds up a little more at David's taunting.
Mike finally loses the battle and his bike tips onto it's side, sliding to the edge.
David pulls right up to the edge and I let out a breathy laugh when I look down to the dark water hundreds of feet below us.
David climbs off, but before he can offer me a hand, Michael is on him. He's only able to get in one punch before the boys pull him off.
"What the hell are doing, Mike?" I exclaim.
He ignores me and faces David.
"Just you. Come on. Just you!"
When David finally faces him again, He repeats his statement. "Come on, just you."
David smirks. "How far are you willing to go, Michael?"
