chapter 19

annikas pov.

"oh my gosh Jake!" i say a little too loudly and feel my cheeks flaming right after the words left my mouth.

he simply chuckled and looked over at me with his usual smirk plastered on his face. "like it?" he said

"love it." i confirm looking back at him

he breaks our eye contact when his eyes flicker to the backseat and he reaches for something. he pulls out a target bag and i smirk when i know what it is. he hands it to me and i sigh in delight when i see candy and popcorn inside the bag.

"honestly you look more happy about the food than the actual movie." Jake comments chuckling at me making me cheeks burn bright red AGAIN. i glance up at him and he continues to smirk at me.

we sit in silence for a few seconds before i hear the sound of Jakes door opening causes me to snap my head towards him.

he ducks out of the car before looking back at me with a 'aren't you coming?' face. i quickly look away from him before opening my own door and stepping out carefully.

Jake jumps onto the roof of his car and motions for me to sit next to him. i try to climb up onto his car but only succeed to slip and almost fall a small screech escaping my lips.

Jake laughs at me and i feel my cheeks burn a dark red. i look down as he laughs and when his laugh finally calms and i look look up at him and he returns my stare.

"come here." he says offering me a hand which i great fully take and he pulls me up as if it is no effort at all.

when he pulls me up fully i collapse on his chest and look up at him. i pull away so I'm sitting next to him. my eyes travel up to the screen where a movie starts playing but honestly, im not really into the movie. i keep fidgeting with my hands and glancing over at Jake who seems to be VERY much into the film.

i move closer to Jake gently placing my head on his shoulder and sigh in comfort. i look up at him for my gaze to instantly meet his. i look into his eyes and let my gaze travel down into his lips which formed into a smirk when he saw where i was looking. i snapped my eyes back into his and he continued to smirk as my cheeks flamed for what seemed for the thousandth time tonight.

i continued to look at his beautiful face and he continued to look at me. it felt like every second was like a thousand years. suddenly i saw Jake to slightly lean in and i could hear my heart beating in my ears.

Jakes lips finally met mine and i leaned in wanting more. after only about five seconds Jake pulled away and i pouted my lips wanting another kiss. my eyes flickered to the huge movie screen to see the ending credits and also to see a few annoyed glances from parents our way. i smiled and looked down, the taste of Jakes lips still lingering on my lips.

Jake cleared his throat and my eyes shot up to meet his.

"we should get in the car... its late." Jake said smiling "yeah" i replied smiling back

i jumped down from the roof of the car still smiling, because honestly, i had a wonderful night.

i opened the door of his car and slipped into the passenger side hearing him do the same a few seconds later. the car ride was silent and i was sad, but grateful when we pulled into my driveway.

i looked over at Jake and smiled "thanks, i had a nice time." i said and mentally cringed at my choice of words.

"anytime." he said in a softer voice

our faces were now just inches away and i let my eyes travel down to his lips again and then back up to his eyes. i felt a wave of courage wash over me and i leaned in and pressed our lips together. his lips were soft and felt so... right.

i leaned in closer savoring the moment. he swiped his tongue across my bottom lip and i opened my mouth fully letting his minty tongue explore my mouth. my hands traveled up to his soft hair and i pull softly on the ends causing him to groan into the kiss and i smiled.

we finally pulled away bolth breathing heavy. i smiled and looked into his eyes to see him smirking.

after my breathing finally calmed i smiled again and finally spoke "so... ill see you at school?"

"until then." he replied and i grinned

"until then." i repeated in almost a whisper.
