chapter 31

annikas pov.

"hey Annie!" Maggie greets at my locker and i groan.

im so tired.

i spent most of last night trying to finish the homework we had and after i was finally done decided 'hey! afew youtube videos wont hurt!'

i got 2 hours of sleep.

"magggggiiiieeeeee" i groan and fall into her arms. "im tireeeddddd" i say and she giggles.

"come on! class!" she says and i give her a 'what the fuck' expression.

"jesus Maggie. why are you so perky?" i say and she grins at me

"i might have met a guy......" she says and smiles widely at me.

"NO. WAY." i say, suddenly feeling much more awake.

"yes w-" all of the sudden the bell rings and we're forced to go to our first hours.  

"awwww! tell me about it at lunch." i pout and she gives me a small smile.

"of coarse! good luck with Math! love you babe." she says and we begin to go our separate ways.

"you too!" i yell and sigh, making my way to my least favorite class. WHAT A WAY TO START OUT MY DAY!

I see Jake in the hall and smile as he's walking in the other direction. When he sees me he ducks his head down and speeds his face until he's behind me.

I frown but decide to ignore it as I enter the math room.

By the time my morning classes are finally over, I'm just about ready to explode. I have more homework than ill ever know what to do with and I've found my thoughts wondering to Jake even though I've been trying to ignore it the whole morning.

A bitter gust of wind is there to meet me when I walk outside. Since I decided againt lunch when Jake was nowhere in the lunchroom, I came outside.

I made my way to the bench I always used to sit at when I needed time to think. I sit down on the cold material and brings my knees up to my face and wrapped my arms around my legs, trying to protect myself from the cold.

I peaked my head over the tops of my knees and looked at the dull gray sky.

I didn't take any notice when a figure sat next to me, lodt in my own thoughts. I thought about my mom, wondering if she would ever come home from that buisness trip, and my dad, how he'd lost his life fighting for our country before I was ever old enough to remember him.

"What's wrong?" I hear a voice beside me and I nearly jump out of my skin. I turn to see a Junior, who's sitting beside me and doesn't look to be mocking at all by his statement.

"Why are you crying?" Concern is laced in his voice and on his face. My eyes widen and I self-caunciously bring my hands up to my face. I hadn't even noticed I was crying.

"U-umm its nothing." I pull a weak smile onto my face and he gives me another concerned look before just dropping it and shooting his hand out with a grin on his face.

"I'm Alex" he says and I take his large hand and shake it a few times before letting go. "Annika" I say in my soft voice and his grin streches into a full toothy smile and finding it comforting,
I return the gesture.

"I thought you were super cute so I was like 'yeah ima go talk to her' and then as I come up to you I was like 'oh shit is that Jakes girl?' But I was like 'no regrets man' and came to talk anyways." He explains and I laugh at his wording

"Well your nice so I'm glad you did" I laugh again and he smiles before continuing to make conversation

Jakes pov. (SUPRISEEEEEE)

"no one Gabbie." I say sternly and she giggles

"I'm not fucking kidding," I growl and slam my fist into the tree beside me, just to emphisis my point.

"Loosen up" she gives me a flirty look before peering over my shoulder for a split second and smirking "I know your worried about your little girlfriend but she'll be gone soon anyways and we both know it. Besides she looks like she's just fine" she says pointing a fake fingernail behind me.

I glance over my shoulder and my heart drops when I see Annika with a guy, laughing.

I feel like beating the son of a bitch until he's dead but I have other things to deal with before I do that.

"Shut up." I snap and rub my temples "annikas here to stay, Gabriella so stop trying." I say feeling quite annoying by her bitchy attitude.

"Ugh but baby I want you" she says putting her hand on my chest which I quickly grab and push away.

"Stop." I say and she rolls her eyes before putting her hands on her hips

"The secrets with me for now but people are gonna find out and I would reccomend you tell her before she hears it from someone else." She says flipping her and walking back to I assume, the school.

I sigh and rub my hands over my face before walkimg back to the school where Annika can't see me.
