Amintas Pov

I wake up the next morning, not.in my room.

"Where am I?" I groan. Glitch sits up next to me.

" in my house. Last night was really rough for you. But wait. You're the one that walked over here dont you remember?"

" maybe its just early morning stuff. But wait. What happened?" I shift my mind back to last night and shiver. All I can remember is falling on the floor crying next to glitch while may checked on my mom because she wasnt breathing. Oh my god.

"Wait. Did she....." I discontinued there.

I look down at my hands. Glitch takes me into an embrace.

" this must be such a nightmare for you. Im so sorry. Your mother was amazing and I'll miss her too. Its okay. Its okay." He whispers.

I cuddle up into his chest before getting up and going to the bathroom to brush my teeth.
I rinse my face off with water and then remember every single little detail that happened last night

"MOM! MOM NO!" The police officers grab my arms as I struggle from there grip as the ambulance takes away my mom.

"I know. But you cant go. Shes already gone." One of the officers said.

"MOMMY. Mommy please come back." I fall to my knees in tears. I feel warm and comforting arms wrap around me. I look up and see may and glitch hugging me. I take there embrace as we sit on the ground, flodding it with our tears.

" um excuse me, but you guys are in the middle of the way for traffic, im gonna need you to step onto the side of the road. And she's going to have to grab everything she can that are necessities so we can take her down to the orphanage in the city. Im sorry about your loss." The officer said to me. I cry even harder. I stand up and run into my house. Ploping myself onto my bed, balling my eyes out.

"Why did you become sick mum? Why did you do this to me? Why am I all alone now. Please, mom I need you. What about school, and dancing, and the love that I took for granted. Mommy. It hurts. It hurts so bad. Mommy please come back. I need you." I grab my suitcase, put my laptop, phone, chargers, clothes for the next year, 3 pairs of converse, my mask, my backpack and my lunch box. Wiping my tears as I do this all. I grab my pillow and a picture, framed with me , mom and dad on it. I hug it tightly as I close my three bags.full of my wardrobe. I lay on my bed one more time before I hear a crinkle of paper. I get up and look under my covers which reveal a letter. It broke my heart once I read it

I love you very much. This is all my fault. You see, ive had cancer for the past 9 months and the chemotherapy wouldnt work, thats why my last few days, I was sick. By the time you read this letter, I will be dead. But I want you to know that when I said I would go to work, I didnt. And im sorry I lied. Just please do me a favor, and keep dancing. I see a passion in your eyes and in your movement everytime you do. Even if you dont try. Dont be sad, someday we will see eachother again. Go downstairs into my room and grab the big envelope on my bed. Its a will. Dont open it. Just give it to may. I love you aminta. Please stay my happy girl.

I cried even more. I shook my head yes and said out loud,

" I will never let you down mommy." I stuff the note in my pocket and ran downstairs not bringing my bags and grabbed the will off of her bed. I ran outside and handed it to may, who was sitting on the grass with glitch.

"Whats this?" She sniffles.

" my mom said its a will. " she puts on a sad smile and takes it. Opens it up and reads it for wuite some time. She stands up and walks over to the officer out of hearing range .
I hug glitch as he hugs back.

" im so sorry minty."

"Its okay. I just dont want to be an orphan now." I lean on him

" this will all passover soon. I promise. But right now, lets just cry." I chuckle as I cry. May comes back over to us and hugs me. She grabs my hand and pulls me over to her house as the police cars drive away from my house.

" what did the will say?" I ask after we come inside and close the door.

" I have the choice to keep you for a limited amount of time until you're sent to an orphanage that I get to choose. So you guys just head to bed. You can skip school tomorrow. Everything is going to be alright." She said calmingly. We nod our heads as we slowly walk up the stairs into glitchs room. We are silent as we slowly drift off to sleep with my mom on my mind every single second.

I take the note out of my back pocket and hug it tightly. I shove it back.into my pocket as I open the bathroom door. I walk into glitchs room with him sitting on the bed, staring off into space.

"Hey sleepy head, you awake?"

"Huh? Oh yeah. I am." He says looking down.

" so, would you do me a favor today?" I ask kinda awkwardly.

" anything as long as you dont talk like that anymore. " he chuckles.

" we need to reherse. Meet me in my garage at 1:00? Because I got stuff.I gotta do"

" no problem. " I nod as I leave his room.

" good morning may. " I say as I see her in the kitchen .

"Honey, I have to talk to you. It will only be a second and its really good news. "

" okay." I sit down .

" well the will said that your house will never go up for sale until you say so, so until you are ready to give up the house. It will remained untouched. You can keep your clothes in there and now there isnt. Reason to go live in an orphanage."

"Wow that is great news but um... im only 14 how do I live alone? And isnt that against the law too?"

"Actually I will have constant supervision on you so you will only basically be living there but you come here to eat and sleep if you want. "

" wow. Thats fantastic news. Thank you may. But now I have no parents. Who will adopt me?"

" well I really cant because you and glitch are more than just friends. I could never do that to him.... oh wait I.... shouldnt have told you that."

" w w wait. You're meaning to tell me that glitch has a crush . On me. Ha hilarious. He doesnt like me. He likes this girl named rebel. But she wears a mask all the time so he doesnt know her true identity.so he'll never know his true love to be. So sad. Ill see you later may." I go towards the front door and leave to my room. Grab my phone and laptop and start video taping a vlog for my youtube channel. Time for the world to know who I really am. And frankly, the mask is getting kinda old.
