I stood in front of the mirror in a beautiful room kaidens maids had set up for me. The bed sheets were made of silk and the pillows had Egyptian cotton. Kaiden even had the maids paint the walls my favorite color, amethyst. I suprised myself when I walked into the bathroom and peered into the mirror. I looked like an entirely different person. My makeup had a classic look to it which brought out my natural beauty and my dress made my eyes pop and my skin look flawless. My hair sat in soft blonde ringlets that led down to my chest. My eyes followed the ringlets to a ridiculous diamond neckless draped around my neck. I can't beleive how much money kaiden had to spend on my outfit tonight. I don't even want to look at the shoes.
"You look beautiful," I turn around so fast I nearly fall.
"Kaiden! I almost jumped out of my heels! Don't scare me like that!"
Kaiden chuckles,"sorry, but really. You look beautiful."
I relax a bit,"thankyou."
"So. How are you doing? How are you dealing with all this?"he waved a hand around.
"Honestly. I don't know. I would say I hate it because I miss my family but I don't have one. I would say I love it but it all seems a little too much. It's alot to take in."
He nods,"understandable."
"So. Do you know if this is going to work out yet? Do you know if I can stay here and the elders be okay with it?"
"I guess we will find out tonight. Are you ready?"he holds out an elbow.
I loop my arm around his,"as ready as I'll ever be."
Kaiden walks me out of my room and down the hall. When we approach a huge door. I could hear the chatter and music behind the doors.
"Ready?"I nod my head.
As soon as the doors open every head turns toward us. Even the music had stop. My heart stops as I whisper,"kaiden, why are they staring?"
Kaiden says nothing and begins to walk me into the room. A few heads turned to the side to gossip. Suddenly a screechy red head came running our way.
"Kaiden baby! I missed you so much!"
I dodge myself out of the way as she leaps into his arms. She looks at me over his shoulder and glared.
Someone's jealous.
After this all chatter had continued and the orchestra continued their instruments.
"Beverly,"he smiles warmly and hugs her, "kalani this is my girlfriend Beverly. Beverly this is my bestfriend kalani."
"I thought I was your bestfriend?"Chris suddenly walks into the conversation.
Kaiden rolls his eyes and continues his conversation with Beverly.
I smile like a fool,"Chris."
Chris and I walk away from the lovebirds who were now sucking each other's faces off. A.k.a kaiden and Beverly.
"Look kalani-,"I cut him off before he could apologize for not telling me he was a vampire.
"Don't sweat it Chris. I understand,"he looks down and smiles.
"Thanks."
"No problem. So. Uhm, why is everyone staring at me?"
"Your a human. Remember. We don't see many humans in the vampire kingdom unless they're dinner. I guess they're just trying to size you up."
I gulp,"that's nice to know."
Suddenly Chris swiftly pulls me out into the hallways. Before I know it his lips crash into mine with a fierce hunger. I kiss him back softly moaning as his tongue meets mine. He suddenly leaves me as I sit there in confusion.
"Kalani. I pulled you out here because I wanted to tell you something. I've been wanting to tell you this for a while. I just didn't know quite how but kalani I love you,"my eyes widen in disbelief.
What do I say? Do I love him back?
"I-I love you too Chris,"he grins before crashing his lips into mine again.
Oh, kalani. What are you doing?
