Chapter 6

Kaidens p.o.v.

I nuzzle into kalani's neck and smile. Waking up beside her this morning was a pleasant suprise. I thought she would have left to go sleep in her bed but here she was. In my arms and cuddled into my chest. My insides warmed as a content smile graced her face.

I won't let anything ever happen to you.

I kissed her forehead and slipped out of bed to change clothes. Leaving her to rest before training. I walked down a flight of stairs and turned left to enter the dining room.

I opened the doors where all of my men stood awaiting my arrival. They bowed.

"Gentlemen, I have summoned you here today to discuss an upcoming war,"they all stood and glanced at each other warily.

"King Elton has decided to finish his parents business and we have no idea when he plans to attack. I do not plan on waiting around like sitting ducks. We will be prepared. Your training will start today in the courtyard. Now,"I clap my hands,"to more important business," I walk towards the table and sit at the end. I motion my men to do the same and they mindlessly follow my order.

"King Elton has been snooping around very important files. Meaning we need a whole new plan. Not to mention we need allies. I'm absolutely sure King Elton has werewolves as his allies along with others. Ah, and perhaps an Allie within this room," my eyes form slits as I look around the room, "one of you have betrayed me. One of you has let an enemy within the walls of my kingdom,"my eyes dart right as I see someone fidget. I relax and continue,"how do I know this? You ask. Well, there is no way in hell," I hiss,"that a hundred and fifty of you'll can let one petty vampire get past you'll without them having your help!" I yell at them.

Some look down at there hands while others watched me intently. While one, just fidgeted and looked around the room.

"Gentlemen, I want you to use this as an example if you ever think about betraying your loyalty to me and this kingdom,"they look at each other bewildered and confused.

My eyes shift to a darker red as my fangs extract. In a blink of an eye I yank the fidgety vampire by his mane and slam him against the wall behind him. He made an 'oomph' sound as my fingernails turned into deadly black claws.

"Why have you betrayed me Liam!" I sneer with anger.

Tension filled the air as he says," you don't scare me kaiden. I don't even know why you bother preparing for the war. Your pathetic and weak,"he spits,"and when we win, I'll gladly take the pleasure in dragging my claws down your little human and making her scream,"my blood begins to boil as my grip around his neck tightens.

He grins wickedly at my reaction. So I lean in his ear and whisper,"tell Chris's parents I said hi,"his eyebrows knit together.

My hand plunges into his chest and grips his heart. He pathetically yelps and some of my men gasp. I swiftly rip it out and I let his lifeless body fall to the ground.

I turn around grinning. Oh, that felt good. I glance around the room with his heart still in my hand. Some have stood up while others sat frozen in their seats.

My hand balls into a fist and the heart explodes against the walls. I lick my fingers for emphasis and the men only cringe. Vampires find vampire blood repulsive while some, like me, find it delicious.

"Clean up this mess,"I ordered," I expect you'll back here this evening after dinner," I began to march out of the room and stop. I slowly turn my head and smile a mouth full of fangs,"unless you want to be like Liam, or worse, my dinner," I exit the room chuckling as my ears picked up on my men gulping.
