Chapter 7

Kaidens p.o.v.

After a quick shower I decided to go wake kalani up. I wonder what she would have thought about me if she saw me killing Liam. That's a side of me she's not well known with, but it's a side of me she must find within herself also. If she does not become a ruthless killer she will not survive this war. This is why I must prepare her.

"Calli, wakey wakey," I smile as she begins to stretch.

"Hmm?"

"It's time to get up. I don't want you to miss training,"she shoots up from bed.

"Holy crap kaiden! That's today!"

I cover a smile beginning to creep upon my face,"it is."

"I'm gonna die,"she gulps.

I roll my eyes,"I'm sure you will be fine and don't worry I'm leaving you in the care of a very good friend,"this catches her attention.

"That reminds me. You never told me if I was safe here or not," realization hits me. She was right.

"I forgot to tell you. The council is not to keen of a human being here but they're willing to let you stay here to keep our secret. Which I'm not exactly sure why. Perhaps they're too busy with other things to worry about you,"she nods.

"Anyhow, hurry up or we are going to be late,"I glance at my watch.

Today is going to be hectic.

Kalani's P.O.V.

Kaiden stepped out of my room to give me some privacy while i got ready. I watched my hands in the mirror as they fumbled trying to pull the shirt onto my body. I have never been more nervous in my life. I don't know how to fight! The biggest fight I've ever been in was an argument with kaiden! I pulled my hair up into a high pony tail and watched as a few strands fell lose. I looked ready for a jog.

After a few minutes of just standing there looking into my own eyes in my reflection I got the guts to walk out and at least pretend to be confident in what I was doing.

Kaiden met me at the door,"took you long enough,"I huffed.

"I'm human you know."

"Yeh, yeh I know. Here,"he shoved a bottle of water into my hands.

"Thanks,"I mumbled. Still not quite awake.

After maneuvering through kaidens mansion and taking an agonizingly long walk outside to a small building we were greeted by a man.

Kaiden greeted him as I looked him over. He had dirty blonde hair and looked to be in his mid thirties. A few tattoos hid under his sleeves and barley exposing them selves on the back of his neck. Curiosity swallowed me whole right then and there.

"Kalani this is Cyrus, an old friend of mine,"Cyrus shifted his eyes onto my form.

I shifted from one foot to another listening to the grass crunch underneath.

"Nice to meet you," I smiled.

"It is a pleasure. You will be the first human I've ever trained,"his voice reminded me of a warrior's voice. Ones I would hear in movies I would watch as a child.

"Well, that makes me feel better,"I laugh.

His laughter echoed mine,"and I see it will be entertaining as well. Now let's get to it,"he spinned on his heel and walked into the building.

"Good luck,"kaiden whispers into my ear and gives me a soft push.

I face him,"aren't you coming?"

"No, I have things to do and I told Beverly I would meet up with her for lunch too. I'm very busy kalani, sorry,"I nod with disappointment. I was hoping my best friend would be there to support me.

I follow Cyrus's huge grass footsteps into the building.

I push open the glass door and a stunning gym sourounded me, but what really caught my attention was the right wall. It was filled with numerous weopons.

God I hope we are not using those.

"Come, come, hurry," Cyrus stated impatient.

I walked onto the middle of a navy blue mat.

"Alright, we are going to start off with a few defensive moves," I nod my head as he shows me a few moves and I try my best to mimic them.

Suddenly he punches my stomach and I hunch over gagging and gasping for air.

"Kalani! Have you been paying attention at all?"

"Well, damn! I didn't know you were going to super vampire punch me and shit!" I yell furious.

His eyebrows furrow.

"What?"

His fist aims for my jaw. I dodge it and punch him in the nose. He smirked.

Awe he thinks that's all I got. How cute.

My blood boils as I knee him in the stomach and interlock my fist and bring it down on his back. I come back to my senses when I hear a crack and he falls to the ground on his stomach.

I crouch down,"oh my gosh! Cyrus, I'm so sorry, are you okay?"

I started to get scared when a deep rumble sounded from him.

He looked up at me and smiled.

"You are something else kalani. I'll give it to you. I was not expecting that,"he stood up and I winced as I heard his bones crack back into place.

"Although you are human I believe you will be my best warrior," I stand up.

"Why is that?"

"Your a human. Vampires will take you too lightly and they won't expect you coming. Just think about it kalani. You can play them in more ways then you know. You can make them think your weak and turn around and attack them!"I watch Cyrus explain in excitement.

"Cyrus your crazy. I can't go against vampires," he looks up at me. Mischief gleaming in his eye.

"Kalani, have you ever considered the fact that your not completely human?"

My eyes widen,"what?"
