Trapped From A Wish

New Names, New World

I wake up reluctantly by my mother who turned on the lights. "Wake up, sweetie. Today is the day you go into that virtual world." I get out of bed, but first notice the worried face of my mom.

"It's alright Mom, why would the teachers bring me into something that wasn't safe? " My mom didn't reply, and I started to wonder if my mom knew more about what was happening. But I shook the idea off because if she did know, there would be nothing that would make a difference to me going into the game.

I took a shower, and put on my clothes. I wore an orange hoodie that I wore on the first day of school, some comfortable black pants, and tied my hair into a regular ponytail. As I said goodbye to my parents before I started walking to school, I took a deep breath, feeling a bit nervous.

~~School~~

"Hey Savannah! You're supposed to come with us towards the schoolyard. " I heard Jason T. Say as I walked across the sidewalk borders on the school. "Okay, thanks," I give him a small smile and we walk together to where the others were. "Are you nervous about going in? " I asked him, he shrugged. "I don't see any problems with it, so I'm fairly sure it's safe. "

As we come closer to where we were supposed to meet, Meagan and Lizzie immediately start running towards me. They then gave me such a huge hug I think I was almost suffocating. "Guys, calm down before I suffocate! " I say between breaths as my friends laughed with me. " Come on guys! We have to go now! " Gabe called as we were laughing and playing around with each other. "Sure," we said back and followed him. The woman appeared next to this tubular looking portal and smiled. "Glad to see that everyone came, " she said, "Go inside." She ordered to us while gesturing at the portal. One by one, we all went inside. Once I went in, all I felt was pain for what seemed like a whole hour, but it was really a brief moment before I felt like I was standing on a solid platform of glass.

"Hello? Can everyone hear me?" The woman asked through what seemed like a projecting screen. We all nodded, "Good. Now all of you will be playing a game. First off, you will need to be given a name to be called by. " A rolled up piece of paper appeared in front of me. I looked around and saw that everyone had one too. I opened my piece of paper, it read:

Leaf of the Pool

Leaf? I asked myself. This was the name my friends called me when we were having fun. It was like a private club.

"I will call all of you up towards this stand to give you your game outfits. First up, Christopher. " The boy walked to the stand and a burst of flames erupted around him. We all ducked for cover, but once the flames stopped Christopher looked like he was put on fire. A fiery aura circled around him and he wore pants and a shirt that were a dark maroon color. He smiled at his friends who were stuck gaping at him. "The Heart of Fire, " she said the new name of Christopher as he walked off the stand.

"Lizzie," the woman said. My friend stood on the stand and the sound of lightning and thunder boomed in the room we were in. As the sound cleared, I saw Lizzie now with an aura of stormy clouds dotted around her. She wore dark gray shorts down to her knees with a T-shirt that had a lightning bolt on it. " The Spotted Storm. " I heard the woman say before Lizzie took off from the stand on top of a cloud.

"Jason N." The boy walked on the stand, and twinkling stars blinded up for some moments. As we all adjusted from the light, I saw Jason, I think taller, with a starry aura surrounding him. He wore black pants with an off-white shirt that had a star on the corner where a pocket could be. " The Tall Star. "

"Meagan. " My other friend stepped forward, and swirls of red and green zipped around her until she finished transforming. I stood with my mouth wide open, gaping at her new self. Meagan's hair was now slightly tinged with green and she wore a ruffled blouse that was green and red. Her pants were dark brown leggings and around her she had wisps of leaves as her aura. " The Tail of Sorrel. "

"Jason T." My play-buddy walked forward immediately as if so anticipated to see his new form. Green, feathery leaves surrounded him and when the leaves disappeared Jason was wearing bark colored shorts down to his knees with a shirt that had woods printed on it. Around him was a green aura that seemed to look like it was separated into thin bits, almost like fur. " The Fur of Bracken. "

"Gabe. " Once the boy stepped on, brown, white, and black stripes swirled around him. After the transformation, Gabe wore a light brown shirt and shorts with a necklace that seemed to have curved claws from some type of animal. " The Claw of Shrew."

"Savannah." I didn't have to be called up to the stand to know when to go, I was the last one. Immediately, I heard the sound of rushing water erupt around me along with the sound of bird calls and leaves rustling in the wind. I felt like I knew much more about the world and what it was, and for a brief moment I gave a small smile. When the sensation and sounds stopped I looked around myself. I was wearing light green shorts with stripes of blue and a dress that seemed to flow like leaves in the wind and water ripples in a pool. I noticed my hair too, which seemed to have grown longer going down to my thigh with a streak of green and blue twirling together. " Leaf of the Pool."

As I stepped off the stand a doorway opened, revealing a grassy meadow and a village. But the village seemed empty with nobody present.

" Make sure to never use your real world names, and welcome to the game of Virtual Reality! May Fate be ever in your favor! " The woman's cheerful voice echoed in the distance as the seven of us walking through the doorway into the virtual world.
