"Hello Leaf." A woman said out of nowhere. I realized I was standing on top of some clouds, looking down at the trees where our homes are. "Hi..." I trailed off trying to recognize the woman. She just smiled when I looked at her and I suddenly realized who she was. "You're the game maker!" I said, surprised. The woman nodded, "Liking your adventure so far, Leaf?" I stopped, "What do you mean?" I asked cautiously.

The game maker let out a small laugh, "You already know what I mean, dear. You caused it." I gulped, this was what I feared. Did I actually cause this? And was I actually liking this life in the virtual reality world? I had then wished I had told my friends what I was worried about back at the glass room. I wished so badly that I could stay with them now. Just at home, with my friends and family.

"Don't do it. " The woman said, as if knowing what I was thinking. She had a red glint in her eye that I didn't see as human. "You'll just make more trouble for yourself. Or should I say, your friends?" Was that a threat? I looked at the woman in hatred. There were no words to describe how I felt about all of them, "Don't hurt them." I said. She smiled, evilly this time. "Oh I won't hurt them. In a way, at least. Just don't say a peep about me, and your poor friends will be spared. " The woman seemed to have created a dark aura around herself, "Tell them, and suffer the consequences. "

I stared in horror at what I had caused, this really was my fault. "Okay," I agreed to the woman, who smiled in triumph. "Alright then. Sweet dreams, Leaf. " A wave of darkness came over me.

"You'll need it. "

"Leaf? Leaf." Someone was saying my name. I tried opening my eyes, but I was too scared from what happened to open them. "Leaf, you're grabbing me like your life depends on it." Hearing this, I opened my eyes immediately and realized I was gripping Shrew's body like a teddy bear. My face leaned against his chest and I realized I was shaking.

"I-I'm so sorry!" I said, really embarrassed, pulling away from him. "I just didn't have a good sleep last night. Nightmares. " I tried to make an excuse for the talk with the game maker, giving a small smile to hide everything.

"Don't say anything. Or suffer the consequences. " I heard the woman's voice in my head.

Shrew looked at me skeptically, but nodded. "I could feel you shivering, what were you so scared about?" He asked me. It was a simple question, but now it felt like the world was collapsing from it.

"U-uh..." I searched desperately for an excuse, "Things that I didn't want to see happen to any of you guys. " Technically it wasn't a lie, I gave him a look that asked for nothing more, and he nodded thoughtfully. "Well, if anything does happen, I promise that I'll stay with you. No matter what. " I looked at him sadly, almost in tears. He didn't know what could happen, he was oblivious to why we were even here.

"Thank you." I said looking down on the ground. We then started getting ready for the morning and headed outside for hunting.

----------

It was our turn to do the hunting for the entire group. We alternate the pairs so then in the end all of us have done our share of work.

"I'll go in the forest to hunt for some blackbirds. " Shrew said, I nodded, "I'll go catch fish in the stream. " We both headed our separate ways and I started to create a net to catch the fish inside.

I've gotten better at my special skills in the virtual reality world and I've learned that I could create a lot of different things with my powers. For example, the net, which seemed to blend into the water perfectly like spider silk.

Once I placed the net in the stream, I sat down on a smooth stone and lied there with my eyes closed. The sun warmed my face as I tried to forget about all my troubles for just a while, but the thoughts always came back to me. Don't say anything. Or suffer the consequences. The words continued to roam through my head. I get it! I silently yelled back at nothing.

"Hey Leaf. Are you okay? You haven't been yourself lately. " I heard someone say. I opened my eyes and turned my head to see Star. "Oh, hey Star. I'm fine, it's just that everything isn't what it used to be." I said. Star came closer and sat on the rock next to me, "Yeah, everyone and everything seems to be changing."

We sat there in silence until Star spoke up, "I know what happened Leaf, in the glass room. I heard everything. " I stared at Star, shocked. "H-how did you know?" I asked him stuttering from being afraid.

"I have special hearing senses. Though I guess the game maker didn't want to tell it to everyone for some reason. " He shrugged off the special power as if he had no purpose to keep it a secret.

"Why was Fire acting like that? He'd never hurt anyone that's his friend, even if he was told to. " Star pushed me into telling the truth to him. I knew what had caused him to act like that, but I didn't know what it exactly was.

"I don't know exactly what made him do that. But-" I was cut off short by a stab of pain all around me. Don't do it. I heard the game maker say again. I winced, making me gasp in pain. Star noticed and looked at me with concern putting his hand on my back. I pulled away from him, this wasn't his problem to solve. It was mine and mine alone.

"Leaf, something's wrong with you. What is it? " he inquired. I shook my head but Star didn't stop.

"Leaf, you're in pain! What is it?" I really did want to tell him what happened, but another agonizing burst of pain came through me causing me to scream.
