Just Playing Around

As we walk towards the abandoned village I realized there were special homes for all of us to live in. I had a home that was nearby a stream and forest, Storm had a home right next to mine, and Sorrel lived just across the stream. "Hey Leaf, heads up!" I heard Storm say. It took just one second to realize what was happening as water poured on top of my head. "I'm going to get you Storm! " I yelled playfully and chased after her.

She laughed so loudly I think it could be heard around the entire virtual reality world. I gained distance as we ran across the field and right before I tagged her I crashed into somebody.

"Sorry, " I said quickly getting up. I looked at who I crashed into and it was Fire. "Why do we always cross paths wherever we're going?" He asked laughing. I chuckled, " So true, just like school," I said, " Got to go chase after Storm now. See ya." I sped off towards where she went and then heard footsteps behind me. It was Fire, "You're chasing Storm? I'm in." He pointed towards the moorland where it was really windy. As I searched the area I saw Storm right at the middle of a hill and raced toward it. Fire ran ahead of me going another direction to get in front of her.

"Once I get to the top you need to be close enough to catch her when she runs." He said, and I nodded. I barely had enough time to wait until Fire came up on the hill running straight towards Storm. I could hear her call out in surprise at him for chasing her and I saw her sprint directly in my direction. I didn't waste this moment and sprung at her, knocking her to the ground. "I said I'd get you, didn't I? " I asked her playfully while panting.

"Yeah, but I didn't expect help! " She gasped looking at Fire with a playful frown. Fire and I gave each other a high five, " Totally worth it. " He said and started heading back to his home.

We followed him to where the other boys were at and noticed they were in a dense pine forest right near the border of the moorland. Star and Bracken were next to each other with houses up in the treetops, Shrew had a home right at the base of a pine tree which seemed to be very large, and Fire lived just at the border on the moorland.

"Nice, " Lizzie said, looking around their section of the world, " I wonder what we will do here anyway. I heard the game maker is the woman, and she seems pretty nice. " I didn't say anything. That woman could not be trusted.

"Now that you've seen our place, let's check out yours," Shrew said hanging from a branch. Storm and I nodded, " Sure, " As the stream that led to our houses came close, Storm started to sprint. "Race you, Leaf! " She called as I released a burst of energy. It took only a little bit of time before I passed her, but then I heard more footsteps. "Fire! Shrew! Not you guys too! " I complained as the two boys gained speed over me and I had to push myself harder to keep up.

" Wait stop! " I called as they passed a turn, " don't-" SPLASH! They accidentally soaked themselves in a hidden pond, "Accidentally step in the water. " I finished my sentence as I started to giggle.

"Haha you guys are soaked from head to toe! " Storm laughed breathlessly looking at them. Fire and Shrew stepped out of the water, grimacing at the bits of algae on their clothes. I laughed even more, " Let me show you the right way to our homes. " I said turning around gesturing for them to follow. Storm was still laughing so much by just looking at Fire and Shrew.

" Hey Sorrel! You there? " I asked once we got to her house. "Over here! " She called right by the stream. " Hey Lea- why are Fire and Shrew soaking wet? " She asked holding back a laugh. "They fell into a pond at the turn, " I said simply, stifling a laugh. " I'll get them some towels," she said going to her house. As she did that Star and Bracken appeared panting. " You left us! " They both said at once. "Whoops, sorry guys. We got too caught up in running. " Bracken brightened up once he saw his other friends, "But I guess seeing you guys soaking wet makes it worth it. " He said laughing as well.

"Okay got some! " Sorrel said coming out with some beige colored towels, " Hey Bracken and Star! " She said as she gave the towels to Fire and Shrew.

We all started talking about things that we did in the past and what we were going to do the next day just to explore the area. Soon enough it was nightfall and all of us split up going back to our homes.

Right before I went inside my house, I took a small glance towards Storm, " Goodnight Spottedstorm. " I said before going inside and right back I heard, " Goodnight Leafpool. "
