Hello my awesome readers! ~~~
I just wanted to point out some very important facts in life.Everyone is equal.
I mean literally, I hate that the world thinks some women can't play some sports because it's a "boy" type of sport. Like why not let girls play football for a change. I mean you've let girls play basketball and baseball, why not that too? I know it's not common girls will play that sport, but that doesn't mean that it just doesn't happen. Sometimes there's one person who will come out and surprise someone.
The world needs to have more true friends.
Now I know this topic is pretty sappy since when you get older in life you can't make as many friends as you did before, and that is okay. That's usual. But to not stand up for someone when you know they just got their feelings and heart hurt, I just don't understand. I mean imagine how it feels when you are dropped to a lower level after working so hard for the high one. It's just sad, even if it's life, it's still hard. Always.
So stand up for someone, maybe just comfort them. It takes courage, but the feeling afterwards is worth it.
So be someone's sun after a rainy day.
Make them smile.
---------
It was sunset by the time Fire came back a tearful mess. Sorrel and I had learned what caused the sickness, but I didn't speak a word of my thoughts. What will happen to all of them?
Surely the game makers weren't that cruel. Right?
Maybe. Just maybe.
We waited until Fire had said his goodbyes to Storm before all of us went outside to wait for her body to disintegrate into particles back to the real world.
I knew what would happen. But even if I tried to stop them, they would've already had her from the start. I looked at my friends, trying to disguise the grief appearing on my face. They had all been bitten by the leopard, they had the poison already injected into their blood that was coming back.
But what about me?
I didn't get hurt by the leopard.
I didn't get poison injected into my veins.
I made that wish under the stars.
I was the reason why they were in here. Then why are they the ones slowly dying?
----------
Soon, we shuffled back into the cave to go to sleep. As predicted, Storm was gone, the only thing left as a reminder was the drop of crimson blood on the cave floor.
Shrew and I slept by each other that silent night. Though it would take a long while until sleep would come to me. I looked to the right and saw Bracken curling up close with Sorrel. I smiled, a little bit sadly, they had each other. Breaking away from my gaze on them, I turned to my left. Fire was huddled in a corner of the cave visibly heartbroken. It looked as if he were having a nightmare with tears staining his face.
Unable to stand not doing anything, I sat up and quietly moved to Fire's side. I didn't want to touch him, waking him up and embarrassing him, so I decided to sing a song.
I tried to think of a time when my mother used to sing to me when I was scared, and thought of soft words to help calm him.
The sun has gone,
Another day is done,
Sleep now while the world is resting.
Let your worries drift away,
Everything will be okay,
And the sun will rise again. As I finished the short song, I started humming the tune to make sure he was in peace. It was the least I could do before the worst would happen. Fire was trying to bare the fact that Storm was gone, and it was my fault. He really did love Storm, but I don't know if he ever got the chance to tell her.
When I was certain Fire was at peace I sighed and went back to rest with Shrew. I felt like crying, but no tears came out. Maybe I was so used to feeling this that I've just become numb to the pain...
But it'll always be there.
----------By the time I woke up I heard coughing. I cursed under my breath and woke up seeing Shrew leaning over Fire.
"He's not okay is he?" I asked, Shrew knew what I meant by this and nodded grimly. "Sorrel and Bracken went to get the supplies to help him, but-"
"Don't." I immediately interrupted him, "Don't say it. " Shrew stopped, and it was silent for a few moments as I created another layer of bedding for Fire.
When I checked over Fire to see if he had the same side effects like Storm and Star, he seemed to have worse. Blotches of red was all over his skin and he physically looked like he was fighting the illness. I put a hand near his forehead and felt heat radiating before I even touched him.
"He's burning up," I noted to Shrew and summoned a cloth at my disposal. I used my water powers to wet the cloth and I let it drift in the wind before placing it on Fire's forehead. Once the cloth became warm, I alternated another cloth that was already cooled off. After several rotations, I saw Fire start to relax and the red blotches on his skin turned into a light pink.
"That looks like it helped," Shrew said to me once Fire seemed to lose his high temperature. He was still unconscious, but I think he wasn't in pain that much.
"We're back!!!" I heard Bracken's voice from the cave. "Sorrel will be here in a few moments, she was going to go out and hunt for our lunch." Bracken handed me some more herbs and some more water. Quickly, I started boiling the water just to take out all of the bacteria that could be in it.
As I sat patiently for the water to boil, I guess I seemed like I was in my own world when Shrew and Bracken had a private conversation to themselves. "I hope he'll be okay." Was all I heard from Bracken, but it seemed like I had heard too much from just one sentence.
The thing is I don't know if he'll be okay...
